Fear Street Trilogy is one of the best modern horror franchises that took the internet by storm when they were released. The three films arrived in 2021 for streaming, but not simultaneously. In fact, the streaming platform followed a weekly release pattern to add to the fandom’s anticipation. If you haven’t yet watched the movies, it is the best time, as the fourth installment of the franchise, titled Fear Street: Prom Queen, is inching towards its release. So, before the standalone sequel drops, here’s how to watch Fear Street movies in order.
Fear Street Movies In Order of Release Date

- Fear Street Part One: 1994 – July 2, 2021
- Fear Street Part Two: 1978– July 9, 2021
- Fear Street Part Three: 1666– July 16, 2021
- Fear Street: Prom Queen: 1988 – May 23, 2025
Fear Street Part One: 1994
Fear Street Part One draws a heavy inspiration from the slasher film series Scream. At the start, we see a masked killer getting on the nerves of the civilians of Shadyside, which is known as the Murder Capital of the USA. This part revolves around Deena and her group, who must protect Sam from Sarah Fier, a witch who possesses bloodthirsty criminals to fulfill her evil intentions.
Fear Street Part Two: 1978
Fear Street Part Two serves as the prequel to the 1994 narrative. It is set in Camp Nightwing, a summer camp where we are introduced to a new set of characters. This part of Fear Street also introduces us to Sadie Sink’s Ziggy. Like 1994, 1978 also saw a bloodbath that eventually ended with numerous killings. The film was influenced by Friday the 13th.
Fear Street Part Three: 1666
The final part of the trilogy contains some greater twists and big revelations that allow the audience to learn about the mysterious deaths and Shadyside’s curse tied to Sarah Fier. Deena gets closure and reunites with her loved ones. The grand final installment turned out to be one of the best concluding parts of any horror film series.
Fear Street Prom Queen: 1988
Fear Street: Prom Queen is the latest addition to the Fear Street franchise. The film features a group of girls competing for the title of Prom Queen. The race for the title is obviously fierce, but no one expected that a masked killer would start targeting every girl appearing at the prom. Maybe it’s a girl who wants to thin out the competition by killing the contestants, or maybe it’s someone who holds a grudge against these girls. Well, you’ll get that answer once you watch the movie.
Fear Street Movies In Chronological Watch Order
Fear Street films don’t follow a similar chronological and release order. The third film to release, which reveals the origins of the main supernatural element of the story, is basically the prequel to the first two parts. Even though we have listed the films in chronological order here, we won’t suggest you follow this sequence as it will spoil your experience.
- Fear Street Part Three: 1666
- Fear Street Prom Queen: 1988
- Fear Street Part Two: 1978
- Fear Street Part One: 1994
While the latest Fear Street film, Prom Queen, takes place between the first and the second part, we don’t know if it’s connected to the original trilogy. Even though it is set in the same timeline, we don’t know if the victims or the killer have any ties to Sarah Fier. But since the movie is close to its release, we’ll get that answer soon.
