When we talk about Fallout, Season 2 has been heavily implying that Vault-Tec dropped the bombs, which resulted in the nuclear fallout. However, as the show is proceeding, it’s being hinted that Vault-Tec did not actually drop the bombs, but someone else entirely was responsible for it. In Fallout Season 2 Episode 6, we see Cooper and Mr. House have somewhat of a confrontation, where he states that someone else was responsible for dropping the bomb, and it looks like we have a hint towards who actually dropped the bombs.
Cooper Thought House Was Going to Drop the Bombs
In previous episodes of Fallout Season 2, we see that Cooper was originally sent to kill Mr. House, but he could not go through with it. However, when Cooper was called upon by House, he already knew that Cooper was there to kill him.
This led to a confrontation between House and Cooper, where he accused House of planning to drop the nukes. To this, House reveals that he is not planning on dropping the bombs; he is trying to build a defence system to protect Las Vegas from the bombs.
House says that while Barb is planning to drop the bombs, she or Vault-Tec is not directly responsible for pressing the button, which ends the world. He has also accurately predicted that the bombs will drop on Cooper’s daughter Janey’s birthday. However, he has not yet been able to figure out who actually pulls the trigger on the world’s end.
If Not House or Vault-Tec, Who Dropped The Bombs in Fallout?
Now, here comes the theory part. Initially, it was implied that Vault-Tec is responsible for the nuclear Fallout seen in the series. However, in Season 2 of Fallout, Mr. House came under suspicion of causing the damage, but now, it looks like both of them were just pawns in a much bigger game orchestrated by someone else. It is entirely possible that the bombs were dropped by the Enclave in Fallout, and there are a few theories I have supporting this.
The first theory comes out of the assassination attempt carried out by Cooper. Now, while it was clear that the people who wanted him to kill House were from the government, it remained unclear which branch of the government they were with. It is entirely possible that the Enclave knew House would eventually figure things out; moreover, he was building a defence system to protect Vegas. So, it could be Enclave who manipulated Cooper into trying to assassinate House.
While it is hard to figure out exactly why Encalve would want to drop the Bombs, the theory is that they were done being a shadow government and wanted to take full control over the United States and potentially, the world.
However, it is not easy to overthrow an entire government, so they orchestrated the Nuclear War, causing a clean slate, and are now trying to take complete control of the wasteland. Well, how accurate this turns out to be can only be said once we get to see more episodes.
