Elden Ring Nightreign Relics Explained

Relics in Nightreign are equippable items that provide permanent modifications to your Nightfarer’s stats and abilities. They’re obtained as rewards at the end of every expedition, and their quality depends on how far into the game’s three-day cycle you have progressed. The Relics you’ll earn at the end of every expedition will be randomly generated. However, clearing an expedition’s Nightlord boss for the first time will reward you with a special Relic.

Speaking of which, Relics comes in three separate versions – Delicate, Polished, and Grand. Delicate Relics are of the lowest quality and provide just one passive bonus. Polished Relics are a tier above in quality and provide two bonuses, while Grand Relics are the cream of the crop and provide three passive bonuses.

In practice, Relics function similarly to Talismans from the base Elden Ring and provide boosts that remain active as long as the Relic stays equipped. The bonuses can range from boosted attack power to enhanced damage negation and everything in between.

Relic Rites are vessels that Relics are slotted into. Each Relic Rite has three slots that vary in color, and you’ll need to place the Relic with the corresponding color to attain its passive bonuses successfully. Relics come in four different colors – Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. For instance, Wylder’s starting Relic Rite has three slots colored in red, red, and blue. To fill up this vessel, you must place two red-colored Relics and one blue-colored Relic.

You can place Relics into these vessels by interacting with the Relic Rite altar near the Table of Lost Grand at the Roundtable Hold. Each character class has its own selection of Relic Rites, and you can also purchase new ones from the Small Jar Baazar.

As you clear expeditions and advance into the game, special vessels with uncolored slots will become available in the bazaar. Similarly, players will also be able to buy Relics by picking between randomly generated bonuses.
