EA’s long-awaited skateboarding revival, Skate, is finally rolling closer to its Early Access launch. Developed by Full Circle, Skate is not a remake or sequel but rather the evolution of the franchise, built as a free-to-play massive multiplayer skateboarding sandbox set in the bustling city of San Vansterdam. With cross-progression and cross-platform support, players will be able to shred rails and pull off combos with friends across all supported devices. In this guide, learn about the EA Skate early access date and times, along with the steps to join it.
When is EA Skate Early Access Going Live?
If you wanted to get in on Skate early, you would have needed to sign up as a Skate Insider by June 27, 2025. That signup granted players access to Playtest Update 0.27, which kicked off on July 2, 2025.
As for Open Early Access itself, EA has confirmed that Skate will launch on September 16, 2025. This was revealed with the early access release date trailer. And yes, the early access will be free-to-play for everyone.
EA Skate will first be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Android and iOS versions are planned for a later release. This means both console and PC skaters will get to grind the streets of San Vansterdam together from day one.
How to Join the EA Skate Early Access Launch
As we mentioned above, the registrations for early access to the game are over. However, for those who missed the Skate Insider sign-up, don’t worry.
You can still prepare for the upcoming release by wishlisting Skate on your preferred platform, whether that’s Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, or Xbox. EA also recommends keeping an eye on their official site for updates on new playtests, insider rewards, and ongoing improvements during Early Access.

Players who registered as Skate Insiders before the June 27 deadline will also receive exclusive rewards, including a custom skateboard and sticker set, once Early Access begins. With San Vansterdam designed as a living, always-online city that expands over time, Skate is ready to be the biggest and most connected entry in the series yet.
