Thanks to an interview with Gameinformer, we have some rough estimates on how long it will take to beat Dragon’s Dogma 2’s main story. Per Capcom Dev 1 member and series director Hideaki Itsuno, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is similar in length to the first game.
Checking HowLongToBeat, we see that the first Dragon’s Dogma main story took around 37 hours to complete. If we take Itsuno-san’s word, Dragon’s Dogma 2 should have a main story length of approximately 37 hours. Of course, Itsuno-san did say in the interview that the main story length wouldn’t change dramatically compared to the first game.
However, reviews for Dragon’s Dogma 2 are now out, and we have more concrete information on its length. The general consensus around the game dictates that it will take 22 to 36 hours to beat. In the same interview, Itsuno-san claims that they’ve added a lot of side quests and activities to the game. Each of them is hand-crafted, and a lot more thought and effort are put into them. As such, players will have a lot of things to do in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Judging by that statement and making some educated guesses, we expect this time to be even longer than the estimates above. In the original Dragon’s Dogma, the completionist time for the game was around 102 hours. And since Itsuno-san claims that the team has added more content to the game. As such, the overall length may be a lot longer, too.
