How to Unlock Instant Camera in Death Stranding 2
To begin with, the Instant Camera mode is not the same as the standard photo mode. Photo mode is available from the start of the game, but the Instant Camera mode needs to be unlocked. When you are halfway through the game, you are given a main order in Death Stranding 2 to be delivered to The Mechanic. So, here is how you get the Instant Camera in Death Stranding 2:
- You need to activate Order Number 29 — Recover the Coffin from the Armed Survivalists’ Base and complete it to connect the Mechanic to the Chiral Network.
- As part of the mission, you must clear an Armed Survivalist camp nearby and retrieve a coffin from that base for the Mechanic.
- Upon completion, load the coffin and deliver the same to The Mechanic, who lives near the Motherhood shelter.
- The Mechanic will be automatically looped into the Chiral Network using the Q-Pid. As a reward for completing this daunting task, the Mechanic will give the Instant Camera relic as a gift.
How to Take Photos with Instant Camera in Death Stranding 2
A key point to keep in mind after getting the Instant Camera is that it can only be used within the DHV Magellan ship at the moment. Here are the steps to snap a photo with the instant camera:
Sam needs to be present inside his private room in the DHV Magellan to access the instant camera. You can see the camera on the right side of his bed, right below Doll Man. Point the camera towards it and press the square button to take photos using the instant camera.
Now you must pick a location within the DHV Magellan to conduct the photoshoot. Only Corridor, Tomorrow’s Private Room, Armory, Hangar Deck, and Bridge are available currently.
With the location locked, the instant camera mode is turned on now, and the supporting characters such as Fragile, Rainy, and Tomorrow will start striking adorable poses that look ultra realistic. You can start clicking pictures by pressing the cross X button.
Once you have taken a picture, you can either give it to them or keep it in your private room. You can also retake the photos in different poses or locations if necessary.
