Farm with Monster and CQ, Jump to Restorative in emergency

Before you start a game as Yamato, remember that without your ultimate, you must avoid fights. That’s why we suggest you farm as much during the laning stage. Get Monster Rounds and High-Velocity Mag to maximize the farm to avoid last hits.

If the enemy is trying to get up close, get Close Quarter first and deal some additional damage to closer enemies. This will also help you farm faster when enemy creeps are closer. As Yamato comes with a low hp early on, get Restorative Shot to survive longer in the lane.

For additional movement, Extra Stamina and Sprint Boots are a must. You can also go for Spirit Strike if you want extra damage on creeps to guarantee last hits. If the healing isn’t enough, get a Healing Rite, and it will be easier for you to stay in lane.

By the time you are starting to enter the jungle phase, make sure you have your Active Reload to keep the farming efficient. You must upgrade Close Quarters and High-Velocity Mag to Point Blank and Pristine Emblem if you are ready to take on some early engagements.

However, if you are getting pushed hard, Bullet Lifesteal can increase your chances of survival. But before you increase your movement with Enduring Speed, make sure you have three important Spirit items ready. These include Bullet Resist Shredder, Improved Cooldown, and Duration Extender.

If the enemy team has heroes like Shiv, Abrams, or Infernus, you must get Healbane to lower their healing rate. On the other hand, if you are struggling with the fights due to your health, get Healing Nova to increase survivability and ability range.

Yamato comes online by the time you have 40k souls. So, to maximize your mid-game builds into the final few, you must get Frenzy and Glass Cannon. These Weapon items will upgrade your bullet damage and scale it higher.

To upgrade your ultimate ability, which is a strong part of Yamato, you must get the Superior Cooldown and Superior Duration. With these items imbued in your ult, you can constantly fight enemies. If you feel the rush for a consecutive bloodbath, get Refresher, Superior Stamina, and Leech. Get Refresher if you are comfortable with your lifesteal, or get the Leech first.

Once you have all your Late game items up and running, you can choose some situational Flex slot items depending on how the game is going. If you are snowballing the game, Crippling Headshot and Lucky Shot can further boost your damage potential.

However, in case the enemies have an upper hand, depending on their damage output, get Improved armor or a Diviner’s Kevlar. If you are chasing enemies frequently, Mystic Slow, Intensifying Magazine, and Escalating Resilience can be the perfect picks.

Yamato Ability Point Order

When you are playing Yamato, you will always be in a dilemma of which ability to max out first. Well, here is a detailed recommendation for that. For starters, you must prioritize the Crimson Slash and Shadow Transformation early on. With the buffs you get from these abilities while building the right items, you can shred enemies while being unstoppable.

Max ult and third skill first

While maxing them, you can put a few points on Flying Strike. For the weapon build, you will not need the Power Slash that much. However, if you find connecting your slash easier, swap the points with the Flying Strike and max the slash first. This will get you a bonus of 200 damage on the max charge, which is a massive spirit damage.
