The key weakness of Magician in Deadlock is his bullet velocity. This can hinder your laning as getting the soul hits gets quite difficult. To solve this issue to an extent, you must get the High-Velocity Mag right away. The Magnificent Sinclair build for Deadlock mostly requires all Spirit power items.

That is why you must start your laning with all the important spirit items like Extra Charge, Extra Spirit, Mystic Burst, and Mystic Reach. To survive in the lane for an extended time, you can get either the Extra Regen or Restorative Locket.

1. Vexing Bolt: Fire a bolt of magic that deals Damage and applies a Fire Rate Slow. If you have an Assistant, they also cast Vexing Bolt at reduced damage. Press the ability button again toward your crosshair to redirect it.
   • Level 1: -4s Cooldown
   • Level 2: -10% Spirit Resist
   • Level 3: +110 Damage. Your Assistant casts Vexing Bolt without reductions

2. Spectral Assistant: Summon an Assistant at the targeted location. The Assistant attacks whenever you fire your weapon, dealing Damage. While the Assistant is out, you can press the ability button again to swap positions with your Assistant. Casting Spectral Assistant also reloads your weapon.
   • Level 1: -10s Cooldown
   • Level 2: +5s Duration & 5m Range
   • Level 3: +45% Fire Rate and +15 Assistant Damage

3. Rabbit Hex: Hex a target, transforming them into a Rabbit for a limited duration. Rabbits are small and move faster, but take increased Damage and are unable to perform most actions. Hex does not interrupt abilities.

   • Level 3: Hex all enemies within 6m

4. Audience Participation: Copy the Ultimate of an enemy hero for a limited time. Reactivating the ability will use the Copied Ultimate instead. Copies will inherit the ability’s upgrade points and will not gain Imbue benefits.

Almost all of Sinclair’s abilities are necessary for the perfect combination play. However, you must get the clone first for easier last hits and guaranteed burst damage. So, make sure you are starting the laning with the assistant unlocked. Follow it up with maxing the bolt. With our build, you can easily blast enemies with bolt spams.

Once you have T3 on assistant and bolt, upgrade the hex ability. With a maxed-out hex, you can turn multiple enemies at once into rabbits. This will also apply damage amplification to them. Upgrade ultimate ability at the end unless the enemy has strong ultimate using heroes like Lash or Dynamo.
