Daredevil Born Again Got So Much Right, But Fans Have This One Complaint

In Short
  • Some fans complain that Daredevil: Born Again gives very little screen time to Daredevil and focuses more on Matt Murdock.
  • In my opinion, this complaint is irrelevant since this show leads to the return or rebirth of Daredevil in its final episode, which justifies the title.
  • I'm fairly certain that we will get to see more of Daredevil in Daredevil Born Again Season 2, however, its release date is yet to be revealed.

Back in 2015, Marvel Studios took the television world by storm when they brought in Charlie Cox as Daredevil. This show was such a massive success that the actor became the face of Daredevil, and I highly doubt that anyone else can now put on the suit except him. However, the show got cancelled after three seasons, which left many fans disappointed, but their requests were heard by Marvel, and Daredevil made a comeback in 2025 with Daredevil: Born Again.

Even though the series turned out to be amazing, and is everything one would want a Daredevil TV show to be, some fans have a complaint, which I feel should be addressed and talked about. So, let me tell you what it is about, and you can judge if you agree with them or not.

What is the Complaint Fans Have About Daredevil: Born Again?

When Daredevil: Born Again was first announced, fans were thrilled knowing their beloved hero was coming back to their TV screen. Though they had a concern about the grittiness and violence in the show being toned down compared to the original, since it was now under Disney. However, to their surprise, it was not toned down in any way or form, which was a matter to rejoice in for the fandom.

Now, you might think that this would be enough to have the fans satisfied, but as a matter of fact, it was not. Some fans stated that even though the series is titled “Daredevil: Born Again,” the screen time given to Daredevil is significantly lower than that of Matt Murdock.

The fans are upset about not seeing Matt Murdock in his Daredevil suit as much as they wanted to. Now the question is, is this concern valid or just some people projecting their what you can call “Hater Energy”?

Is the Screen Time Complaint for Daredevil: Born Again Valid?

Now I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but in all honesty, I don’t think it is a valid argument in any way or form, and I have good reason to say so. Firstly, Daredevil Born Again is not a show about Daredevil throwing punches at bad guys and saving the day. It’s a show about Matt Murdock’s internal battle with himself and his not being able to find a relevance for Daredevil, especially when he failed to save the one person he loved the most, i.e. Foggy Nelson.

The series operates on the dilemma Matt faces regarding his alter ego, and Season 1 ends with a realisation that his city, New York, needs Daredevil to save them from what Wilson Fisk is doing. There is a reason this show is called Daredevil: Born Again and not just Daredevil because it leads us to the rebirth of Daredevil as a saviour of New York City from the clutches of Wilson Fisk and his Task Force.

The reason Daredevil does not have a lot of screentime in this show is simply because Matt does not know if donning the Daredevil suit is the right thing to do, especially after he tried to kill Bullseye. The last thing Matt wants is to become like Frank, aka The Punisher, and the guilt of not being able to save his friend will push him to it if he puts on the suit again, which is pretty visible when he almost choked Muse to death.

As far as I believe, the structural integrity of Daredevil: Born Again has been beautifully crafted, and the first season ends with the rebirth of Daredevil. What do you think? Let us know your opinions in the comments.
