Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure RPG that features stellar action. The game is one of the biggest highlights of 2026, and it is due to its massive world and incredible variety of weapons and combat mechanics. The game has five different weapon categories, each with multiple weapon types. Here is a full list of all Crimson Desert weapons.
List of All Crimson Desert Weapon Types
Crimson Desert offers a huge variety of playstyles, which include multiple weapon types. You will need to master them in order to defeat all Crimson Desert bosses. So, here are all the weapon types we have found in the game:
- Sword
- Shield
- Dagger
- Rapier
- Spear
- Greatsword
- Axes
- Hammer
- Bow
- Pistol
- Rifle
- Hand Cannon
- Unarmed and Grapple
- Mount
Sword and Shield

Kliff wields a one-handed sword and shield from the get-go. The sword does sweeping slashes and can be dual-wielded, while the shield can parry, block, and count attacks. Check our Crimson Desert parry and counter guide to learn how to do it. Although swords can be dual-wielded, you cannot dual-wield two shields, like the Elden Ring or Dark Souls games. This is because shields are considered off-hand weapons in the game.
Dagger
Daggers are another one-handed weapon type usable in Crimson Desert. These cannot be wielded in combat directly with a sword, but can be used to assassinate enemies or hit specific weak points in melee range.
Hammer
Hammers and Maces are also available weapons in Crimson Desert. They are hard-hitting weapons that deal a ton of blunt damage and can easily stagger enemies.
Greatsword

For players who like dealing huge damage with each swing, we have the Greatsword for you in Crimson Desert. The greatsword can be wielded by both Kliff and Damiane, two Crimson Desert playable characters. It has a huge range and can slice through multiple enemies with each swing.
Spear

The spears give increased range, and there is a wide range of them available in the game, including a literal farmer’s pitchfork. It is a great Crimson Desert weapon to keep your enemies at a distance while doing good damage.
Axe

The axes also require two hands to wield in Crimson Desert. They are similar to the greatswords in damage but have a shorter range. These do a ton of damage and can stagger enemies fairly quickly.
Bow and Arrow

The game starts by giving players a bow alongside the other one-handed weapons. The game has a fully dedicated archery class with multiple skills and abilities to choose from. You can use Crimson Desert skills to imbue elemental powers on your arrows.
Pistol
The pistol is a one-handed ranged weapon in Crimson Desert, and it is perfect for quick shots at enemies from a distance. The pistol allows you to rotate from melee to ranged combat fluidly, as it can be fired without aiming.
Rifle

Rifles are two-handed ranged weapons, with a bit more kick to them than bows. The rifles can deal a ton of damage over a distance, but take longer to reload.
Hand Cannon

The hand cannons are the heavy damage-dealing ranged weapons that you will need to tackle big enemies. These do very serious damage and stagger enemies easily.
Unarmed and Grappling
One of the incredible combat mechanics of Crimson Desert is that you don’t need weapons to be lethal. The game features unarmed combat, adding a monk-style fighting technique, allowing players to punch and kick enemies with devastating damage.
Other than that, you can also grapple enemies and perform wrestling-style attacks, like the German suplex, chokeslam, and much more.
Mounts
Although Crimson Desert mounts are not exactly weapons, each mount has different fighting capabilities in combat. Kliff can ride a bear, a dragon, and even a mech robot. When riding a bear, Kliff can use it to slash or bite enemies; when riding a dragon, he can make it hail fire and destruction on enemies. However, the most broken mount is the mech robot that allows Kliff to shoot devastating missiles at enemies.

How to Upgrade Weapons in Crimson Desert
Like most other RPGs, you can also upgrade weapons in Crimson Desert to strengthen them. Upgrading a weapon in Crimson Desert is fairly simple and is called ‘Refining’. To do it, you have to find a blacksmith who can refine. You can find Blacksmiths in Crimson Desert in most of the big cities, and you can ask them to upgrade your weapon.
You will have to pay money to upgrade the weapon, and some weapons require additional materials before you can refine them.

Crimson Desert Abyss Gear Explained
Other than upgrading weapons, you can use Abyss Gear to strengthen them. The Abyss Gears are additional stat modifiers that can be equipped on your weapon to increase its base stats.
