Crimson Desert is one of the biggest open-world RPGs in 2026, and it features a ton of amazing features. One feature that particularly stands out is mounts, which Pearl Abyss has been famous for since their Black Desert Online days. The game features an amazing range of mounts that can be used both to traverse the land and in combat. Here are all the Crimson Desert mounts revealed so far and how to tame them in the game.

All Mounts in Crimson Desert Revealed So Far

Crimson Desert is expected to feature 29 mounts, including horses, bears, raptors, lizards, dragons, mechs, and even dinosaurs. Here is a list of all the mounts showcased so far in Crimson Desert:

  • Horse
  • Bear
  • Raptor
  • Dragon/Wyvern
  • Mech
  • Direwolf
  • Skies/Boat
  • Hot Air Balloon
  • Jetpack

Horse

Horses are likely going to be one of the first mounts in Crimson Desert. We have already seen a ton of horses in Pywel, with many wild horses appearing in the countryside. Horses are one of the most efficient land mounts for covering great distances.

Players can engage in mounted combat on horses, shoot arrows, or swing their swords from atop the creature. However, the only attack the horse appears to do is back kicks. The horses can also be used to race in the game.

Direwolf

Direwolf is one of the newly revealed mounts, first appearing in the Crimson Desert release date trailer. Kliff Mcduff is shown riding a giant wolf in one of the scenes, and that appears for a brief second. Although we don’t know where this mount will be obtainable from, the surroundings do hint at Pylune.

Bear

Bears have been extensively showcased in multiple Crimson Desert videos as a mountable creature. Not only does it appear big and strong, but it also knows how to deal with enemies. The bear can fight on its own when around you, and mounting it also unlocks hidden move sets, like long slashes and bite attacks. Bears are going to be one of the most sought-after land mounts, due to their devastating combat ability.

Raptor

Raptors are dinosaur-like creatures that have been showcased as mounts in Crimson Desert. These reptilian creatures run on two legs and are very agile. We also expect Raptors to be effective in combat, but it has not been showcased in the game yet.

Wyvern/Dragon

Wyverns or dragons are among the few flying combat mounts in Crimson Desert. Not only can you use Wyverns to cover great distances by flying, but they can also burn down entire battlefields by breathing fire. Expect Wyverns to be mid-to-end game mounts, as I don’t see how starting players can get their hands on such devastating powers so quickly.

Mech

When it comes to overpower mounts, none comes close to mechs. Crimson Desert has showcased a dwarven mech that is mountable, and it can run on land, fly, and shoot missiles. Yes, the Dwarven Mech is easily the strongest mount and one of the best Crimson Desert weapons in the game. It can destroy entire groups of enemies alone, by shooting bullets, cutting down close-range enemies, and shooting missiles. Fortunately, this mount is only unlockable in the end-game content, making it the perfect utility to test out the wildest shenanigans in Pywel.

Skie

Crimson Desert has vast connected riverways, and it has been shown that players can swim in the game. However, no aquatic creatures have yet been revealed, but there is a possibility that they are available, and some of them are mountable. But if not, then Skie is the only mountable thing you can use to cross large distances of water bodies in the game. These are small boats that can only have one or two people in them.

Hot Air Balloon

Another aerial mode of travel in Pywel is the hot air balloon. Whether these are going to be controllable or act as ‘flying wagons’ is currently unknown. But seeing how almost all modes of travel can be controlled, there is a good possibility you will be able to control the hot air balloons as well.

Jetpack

Jetpack is the latest mount showcased recently in the launch trailer. It showcases Kliff flying through the air with little to no discomfort using a jetpack. The video shows full aerial movement flexibility with the jetpack, making it one of the coolest flying mounts in the game.

How to Tame Mounts in Crimson Desert

The process of obtaining mounts is still not entirely known in Crimson Desert. One of the gameplay showcases does show that a taming mechanic is available in the game. Kliff is shown to tame a wild horse by jumping on its back and playing a quick taming mini-game. The minigame appears to require quick key mashing at the correct timings.

Now, we only know that you can tame wild horses in the game. Whether this feature is available for all mountable creatures is yet unclear. There is a possibility that the other mountable creatures unlock in other ways, like completing missions or defeating said creatures in combat. They can also be unlocked by completing missions. But it would be pretty cool to be able to tame every wild creature that appears in the game if they have added it.
