After a six-year hiatus from the mainline series, The Borderlands franchise is returning with Borderlands 4. The fourth entry in the series promises to be the boldest yet, introducing a plethora of features that should spice up the gameplay formula in many significant ways. While its pre-release showings have impressed fans, chatter around the game’s pricing has been controversial, to say the least. Fortunately, 2K has officially put those rumors to rest by unveiling the title’s editions and prices. So, if you’re eager to play the game as soon as it arrives, check out our Borderlands 4 pre-order guide before making your purchase.
How to Pre-Order Borderlands 4
To pre-order Borderlands 4, all you need to do is navigate to the game’s page on the digital storefront of your choice. Here, you’ll find an option to buy the game ahead of its release on September 12. You can check out Borderlands 4 on Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Store through the links here.
Pre-ordering allows you to preload the game and jump in as soon as it unlocks on launch day. Besides this, you’ll also get some cosmetic rewards for free in the form of a pre-order bonus.
All Borderlands 4 Editions and Prices
Three separate editions of Borderlands 4 are available for pre-order. This excludes the special Collector’s Edition, which comes with a lovely Echo-4 figurine outfitted with LED lights. Unfortunately, this pricey variant doesn’t come with the base game itself – a bizarre practice that’s more common than you’d think.

As for the rest, Borderlands 4’s Standard Edition costs $69.99, and it comes with the base game and the Gilded Glory Pack sprinkled on top as a pre-order bonus. Next up is the Deluxe Edition, which comes in at $99.99 and features some extra content.
Lastly, the Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition is loaded with all the bells and whistles, but it’ll cost you an eyewatering $129.99. For a look at the content included in each edition, take a look at the table below:
Content | Borderlands 4 Standard Edition | Borderlands 4 Deluxe Edition | Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition |
---|---|---|---|
Base Game | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Gilded Glory Pack (Pre-Order Bonus) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Firehawk’s Fury | No | Yes | Yes |

It’s worth noting that the Bounty Pack Bundle, which adds four unique areas with new missions and bosses among other features, will also be available as paid post-launch content.
Is Borderlands 4 Coming to Nintendo Switch?
Yes, Borderlands 4 will eventually be available on Nintendo Switch 2. The game’s arrival on the handheld was confirmed during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation that aired back in April. However, Gearbox hasn’t revealed a concrete release date for the Switch 2 port, meaning Vault Hunters on the platform will have to wait a bit longer.
