BlizzCon 2026 is finally here, bringing some of the biggest franchises of Blizzard Entertainment together for the major convention since 2023. With World of WarCraft, Diablo, Overwatch, StarCraft, Hearthstone, and Heroes of Storm all represented, expectations are through the roof. So, here are all the game announcements revealed at BlizzCon 2026, taking place in Anaheim, California.
Heroes of Storm

Heroes of Storm is the first major game to receive a reveal during the BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony. Blizzard announced that Xal’atath is coming to Heroes of Storm as a playable hero.
The announcement was accompanied by a cinematic appearance from the character. The reveal is particularly notable because Heroes of Storm has spent years receiving comparatively limited content. Its presence at BlizzCon 2026 and the announcement of a new hero therefore give the community something significant to look forward to.
Diablo Animated Series
Blizzard is also taking Diablo beyond video games, and the company has announced a new Diablo animated series for Netflix. Although no specific details of the show’s plot, animation studio, cast, or release date have been revealed yet, Blizzard hints that other franchises might eventually receive similar adaptations.
StarCraft
The biggest surprise at the BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony announcements was the brand-new StarCraft game. This is an open-world first-person shooter set within the franchise’s iconic science-fiction universe.
The announcement finally puts an end to months of speculation surrounding Blizzard’s plans for StarCraft. The cinematic trailer of the game showed Terran Dominion soldiers. They underwent some rigorous training before being thrown into a confrontation with the Zerg.
However, Blizzard quickly turns that encounter into a fight for survival. Although we have a cinematic trailer out, the game is due in 2030.
Overwatch
Overwatch is another major Blizzard franchise that received a major announcement for its next playable hero. Aaron Keller introduced Doctrine, a new Support hero built around the use of drones.
Doctrine’s abilities are centered on helping teammates during combat. His drones can heal allies and increase their attack speed, giving them a support playstyle focused on keeping teammates alive.
Diablo 4
Diablo 4 has received several major announcements at BlizzCon 2026, including the new seasonal content, a new platform release, and an upcoming class.
Season of Hell’s Legacy is coming to Diablo 4 on September 15. This season will take players on a journey through Diablo’s history, bringing several familiar enemies and bosses from earlier games back to action.
Blizzard has officially confirmed Diablo 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Yes, Switch 2 players will also have the opportunity to experience the new season on the handheld.
Finally, another significant reveal is the arrival of the Amazon class. It is built around ranged combat, wielding a bow and javelins to attack enemies from a distance. The Amazon class is scheduled to arrive in the first half of 2027.
Diablo 5
The cat is out of the box, and this is surely the biggest surprise Blizzard Entertainment has given us so far in the BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony.
Yes, BlizzCon 2026 has officially revealed Diablo 5 on the 30th anniversary of the Diablo franchise. Blizzard unveiled the game with a cinematic trailer centered around the return of the Lord of Terror to Sanctuary.
The reveal carries an ominous message, suggesting that the world will once again be threatened by one of the most powerful demonic forces. Diablo 5 is currently scheduled to launch in 2029.
Hearthstone
Hearthstone has received one of the most substantial announcements during the event with its major expansion, Black Empire. The expansion launches on October 20 and introduces a new direction to the card game’s storytelling.
The multiplayer is also expanded with 2v2 gameplay options. So, you can now team up with your friends or players online instead of the traditional one-on-one matches.
Another huge reveal is the Monk class coming to Hearthstone in 2027, bringing yet another class into this card game.
Note: This story is in progress, and it will be updated in real time.
