Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Part 3 has finally arrived, and as always, the franchise continues to live up to the hype. The anime’s third part started trending on social media ahead of its premiere, and its opening is already considered the best in 2024. The first episode of Bleach TYBW Part 3 was everything we expected, but it also featured several moments that perplexed the fandom. One of them was when Yhwach released an attack on the baldy leader of Squad Zero, Ichibei Hyosube, and we saw his head getting separated from his body. Do you believe Ichibei Hyosube is actually dead? Here are the answers you have been looking for.
Is Ichibei Hyosube Dead in Bleach?
No, Ichibei Hyosube is not dead in Bleach TYBW. Yhwach indeed unleashed a powerful attack on him, but he somehow survived. Ichibei isn’t someone who can be easily killed; this mystical event is an example.
After getting his head dropped on the ground, Hyosube communicated with Ichigo using his spiritual power. He asks Ichigo to call his name as all his powers lie in his name. Initially, Ichigo gets confused after hearing his voice, but when he calls out his name, Ichibei comes back to life.
After getting healed, Ichibei Hyosube explains to Ichigo that when the spiked head called out his name, he used some of Ichigo’s energy to heal his body. However, he also reveals that he can’t fight Yhwach despite being resurrected as he will need more time to regain his full powers. So, Ichibei passed on the responsibility of killing Yhwach to our main protagonist.
Does Squad Zero Die in Bleach?
In the final episode of TYBW Part 2 and the first episode of Part 3, we see three Squad 0 members, Tenjiro Kirinji, Kirio Hikifune, and Oetsu Nimaiya, committing suicide by slicing off their throats. They do that so that Shutara can use her full powers without destroying the three realms.
Apparently, Squad 0 members could dismantle the realms by unlocking their full powers. So, they entered into a blood pact to lock their true powers. Further, they also decided that only one of these members could unlock their full powers but at the expense of the lives of the rest. That is why they killed themselves.
Following that event, Shutara fights Yhwach’s allies and gives them a tough time, but she is later killed by Uryu Ishida. We already know that Ichibei will come back to life, but what about the rest of the Squad 0 members?
Well, you’d be delighted to know that Squad 0 members can’t die – they come back to life and instantly reappear in their original form in Soul King’s palace. For that to happen, they need at least one of the members alive, and, in this case, they have Ichibei. Interestingly, at the end of the manga, Ichibei himself states to Ichigo that Squad 0 members aren’t dead. That’s because the High Priest was confident that he could resurrect all of them.
