Avengers Doomsday will release globally on December 18, 2026, on the same day as Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 3. This release date comes after a series of delays from Marvel’s end. In 2023, the cinema world witnessed Barbenheimer: the clash of the new Barbie Movie and Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

Now, this year is shaping up for DunesDay as both Dune 3 and Avengers: Doomsday are set to release on the same day. Sadly, Dune 3 has secured IMAX screens on the release day, but Avengers: Doomsday will be releasing on a new format called the Infinity Vision.

Is There a Trailer For Avengers: Doomsday?

The first full-length trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has finally arrived. With just six months remaining until the movie’s release, Marvel Studios has unveiled a three-minute trailer that offers a glimpse of Earth’s mightiest heroes joining forces to take on Doctor Doom, which you can watch below:

Doctor Doom looks overpowered, as he is capable of casually stopping the Stormbreaker with one hand. However, Captain America is finally back, and he is leading the team once again. So, the Earth’s heroes have a chance against Doctor Doom.

Earlier, Marvel released four separate teasers for the movie featuring heroes like Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, and Ben from the Fantastic Four. In the Doomsday teaser featuring Captain America, we see that he has left being a superhero behind and now has a child.

For the Thor Avengers: Doomsday clip, we saw Thor talking to Odin, asking him to grant Thor strength to protect his loved ones, and in the last clip, we saw Shuri (new Black Panther) meet Ben from The Fantastic Four.

Now, the most interesting thing about Avengers: Doomsday is the cast lined up for the movie. This project will feature a larger ensemble than anything we’ve seen from Marvel so far. Alongside newly introduced characters, the film is also bringing back some faces we never expected to see again—something Marvel confirmed during their official cast announcement.

That said, the characters revealed so far make up only half the roster, with more actors and surprises expected to be announced soon. So, for now, here’s a complete list of all the confirmed cast members set to appear in Avengers Doomsday:

What Is the Plot of Avengers: Doomsday?

The plot of Avengers: Doomsday is like Pandora’s Box, locked tight and hidden from everyone. Some even claim that the actors themselves don’t know the full story, only the parts their characters are involved in. That just goes to show how closely Marvel is guarding this script. However, a new synopsis for Avengers: Doomsday has emerged online on Rotten Tomatoes, following the new trailer’s debut:

Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As fans already know, all the heroes from three different universes are teaming up to face the Thanos-level threat, Doctor Doom. Marvel claims that Doomsday will pave the way for the future MCU movies. While you are here, check out all Marvel movies in order to gear up for Doomsday.

We already know that Fantastic Four First Steps is set in an alternate dimension, separate from the main MCU continuity. As teased in the post-credit scene from Thunderbolts, the Fantastic Four arrived on Earth-616. Their arrival in the primary timeline suggests that they may have failed to save their world from Galactus and have now escaped to the 616 timeline.

Now, the interesting thing here is, if there’s a world where the Fantastic Four exist, then naturally, Doctor Doom must exist there too. After witnessing the destruction of his world and the failure of the Fantastic Four to stop it, Doom might make it his mission to conquer every dimension out there, believing it’s the only way to prevent such devastation from ever happening again.

So, he tracks the Fantastic Four to Earth-616 and follows them there, setting the stage for the events of Avengers: Doomsday. But hey, remember, this is just a theory for now. We’ll have to wait quite a while before we get any official details.

So, fans can gear up for an almost 3-hour-long epic saga that will redefine the history of the MCU once again.
