Bleach is set to return with the much-awaited Thousand Year Blood War Arc Part 3. In the modern age of anime, we’ve seen several amazing shows like Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer. However, Bleach, even after being away from the screens for several years, made a bombastic return with the TYBW arc adaptation. Studio Pierrot has successfully adapted to the modern animation style and released two incredible cours. Now, with the third part underway, let’s look at how many chapters Bleach TYBW has adapted from the manga so far.
How Many Chapters Are Left In Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Arc?
In the Bleach manga, Thousand-Year Blood War Arc is covered in 218 chapters, roughly. This makes TYBW one of the longest arcs in the manga series, so it makes sense why the studio decided to cover it in four parts. Regardless, to answer the question, Bleach TYBW anime has so far covered 128 chapters, which means the anime still has 90 chapters to adapt.
Part 1 of Bleach TYBW, which consisted of 13 episodes, covered 62 chapters of the source material. TYBW Part 2, on the other hand, which also ran for a single cour with 13 episodes, covered the next 67 chapters from the manga. So, a total of 129 chapters have been adapted so far.
If we consider the first two parts, the anime has been adapting around 4-6 chapters in each episode. However, it’s safe to assume that the studio will bring down the pacing in the next two parts.
There are now around 90 chapters left to adapt from the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc in the Bleach manga. So if creators want the next two parts to also feature 13 episodes each, they’ll have to divide 90 chapters across two cours.
Taking the previous trend into account, 45 chapters may not be sufficient for 13 episodes. So, the creators will have to slow down the pacing by including significant anime-only elements. The anime-only parts will not only help tell a better story but also make it easier for the next part to run smoothly for 13 episodes. Honestly, Bleach has done this with the previous two parts by including several anime-only elements, but they’ll have to do it more in the next two parts.
From Which Manga Chapter Will Bleach TYBW Part 3 Begin?
The last chapter that Bleach TYBW adapted was 609, titled ‘A.’ So, it’s safe to assume that Part 3 will pick up things from Chapter 610, titled Mausoleum of Skulls. The anime is still on the Black Volume, which runs from Chapters 602-611. So, the first episode of Part 3 will make the jump to the next Volume, The Ordinary Peace, after adapting the events from Chapters 610 and 611.
TYBW has so far been an action-packed experience. Of course, it sometimes lacked good animation, but it was a great adventure overall. Hopefully, the quality will only go uphill from now onwards.
