Vodafone’s Rs 159 Plan Reportedly Brings 1GB Daily Data for 28 Days

Vodafone Announces Two Data-Heavy Plans Starting ₹549 to Counter Reliance Jio

With its main rival, Airtel, starting to offer 4G data at cheaper price-points to compete with Reliance Jio, Vodafone has once again announced a new prepaid pack in an effort to keep up with its rivals in the country. As part of the plan, the company has now announced a Rs. 159 recharge voucher that offers 1GB of data along with 250 minutes of voice calls and 100 SMSes per day for a period of 28 days.

According to Telecom Talk, the plan is available to all users across all circles, but we couldn’t find it listed online either for Delhi-NCR or for Kolkata. Overall, the pack offers a maximum of 28GB of data, but do note that voice calls are capped at 1,000 minutes per week, and that too, to just 100 unique numbers during the entire validity period.

Weirdly enough, Vodafone is reportedly offering different SMS benefits in different circles, but Beebom couldn’t independently verify the claim.

In contrast, users get a ton more benefits from Reliance Jio’s Rs. 149 plan that offers not only 1.5GB of data and 100 SMSes per day for a period of 28 days, but also brings truly unlimited voice calls without any restrictions whatsoever. Moving up to Rs. 198 even brings 2GB of data per day with the same unrestricted voice calling benefits plus 100 SMSes per days.

It’s also worth noting that unlike Vodafone’s plans which don’t bring any additional benefits, like entertainment and news services, Jio customers get to enjoy a ton of apps from the company without any additional payment whatsoever, including movies, music, TV channels, digital newspapers and more.
