How to Forge a Weapon in The Forge

To forge a weapon, you need ores. Ores can be mined from caves using a Pickaxe in The Forge. Once you have ores, head back to the Forging station, where you started the first quest of the game.

In the Forging station, you’ll find a Crucible, and interacting with it will open a forging menu. Select the Weapons option. Choose a combination of any three or four ores you have in the inventory and add them to the crucible. However, if you add more ores, then your chances of getting a better weapon type increase. Moreover, going for better materials improves the quality of that forged weapon.

To complete a forging process, you’ll need to complete a series of three mini games: Smelting the ore, pouring the hot metal into the mold, and hammering and shaping it. Here’s how you can ace all three forging mini games:

  • Smelting: In the first mini game, you move the green arrows on the left side of the screen and heat the ores. There will be a bar on the right side indicating your progress.
  • Pouring: Now, a black bar appears on the right side of the screen, with a needle. Your goal is to keep the needle inside the yellow area of the bar. Hold the left button of the mouse to raise the needle and release it to drop it.
  • Hammering and Shaping: Hammering the mold is easy; you just need to tap on it. However, shaping it can be a hell of a task. You’ll see two circles appearing on the molten weapon. One circle is still, and the other one gets smaller. You need to click exactly when both circles are closest to each other. When successful, you’ll see a green ‘Perfect’, or a red ‘Bad’ when poorly done. Make sure to stay focused, as this determines the quality of your equipment.

Once you have completed all the mini games, your forging process will be completed, and you’ll receive the forged weapon in your inventory. After getting a weapon, you can decide if you want to sell it or upgrade the stats using runes and essences.
