Since the very first Season, the identity of The Board has been a mystery, however, with Severance Season 2 Episode 3, we might have got a hint on who or what is The Board, courtesy of Natalie. Natalie Might Have Revealed Who the Board Is in Severance Season 2 Episode 3
Since Severance Season 1, Natalie has been an unsettling presence on screen for Cobel, Mark, and now Milchick. In Severance Season 2, we see her appear on the screen as she brings a gift for Milchick. According to her, it was from The Board to help see Milchick himself as an image of Kier. However, the paintings she brought were deeply unsettling for Milchick, and even before he could say something, the board disconnected the call.
In this particular scene, Natalie referred to The Board as “It”, however, considering that it is a ‘Board,’ the right syllable should have been ‘They’. If you think that I must be overthinking it, multiple Redditors have also stumbled upon the same detail and have come up with their theories.
One such theory that I believe to be true is that The Board may be a digital form of Kier’s consciousness which is being refined by the Micro Data Refinement department.
We were also introduced to Mammalians Nurturable in the latest episode of Severance Season 2 who have been taking care of and breeding goats in one of the departments on the severed floor of Lumon. It is possible that the Goats are being used as test subjects to create a body for Kier’s consciousness once the MDR finishes refining.
