With the Working Bee update around the corner, Grow a Garden has revealed that players will get a brand new pet for free. The developers have been expanding on the Bee event and have introduced a variety of useful pets that can give your fruits some great mutations. However, since those were only found through pet eggs, you were required to grind the game to get it. The upcoming update is going to change that and treat players with a new Cooked Owl pet. How to Get Cooked Owl Pet in Grow a Garden
Similar to the Chicken Zombie and Panda in Grow a Garden, the free Cooked Owl pet will only be obtainable for a short duration, in a specific way.
To get the Cooked Owl pet, you simply need to be in the game when the Grow a Garden Working Bees update drops. The new pet will be added to your inventory automatically, likely after a cutscene that will play a the time of release, i.e., June 14, 2025, at 7:00 AM PST. So, remember to join the game at least 30 minutes before the update release time.
Why Is Grow a Garden Adding a Cooked Owl Pet?
Why a cooked owl, you ask? Well, this whole thing started when one of the game’s lead developers, Jandel, was running Grow a Garden weather events before the Bee update. He decided to run the night event to give players a final chance to get items from the Twilight shop.
And well, the Twilight Shop Owl decided to bamboozle the players with the worst stock of all time. I mean, one time would’ve been fine. But the event ran twice, and the shop didn’t have any good items the second time as well. So, Jandel apologized to the community and said that he will cook the bird to exact revenge on it.
To everyone’s surprise, he wasn’t kidding. Everyone received a new cosmetic item, Cooked Owl on a barbeque grill, with the Friendship update. However, this was disappointing for the players as they expected to receive a new free pet.
To clear out this confusion, Jandel quickly posted a video on TikTok, apologizing to the community and promising to drop a brand new free Cooked Owl pet with the next update. And well, the game’s developer is ready to deliver on that promise
Grow a Garden Cooked Owl: Passive Skill
At the time of writing, we don’t have information about the passive ability of the Cooked Owl pet in the game. All we have is a leaked image of the Cooked Owl from the official Grow a Garden Discord server, where you can clearly notice the smoke coming out of its head, a tanned body, and bones for its feet.
That’s all we know about the Cooked Owl pet for now. Don’t forget to join the game at least 20-30 minutes before the update release. I say this because Roblox servers start to lag and crash with the influx of traffic in Grow a Garden. I also say this because you get access to some exclusive admin events before the update drop.
