Arcane has captivated a massive fanfare with its amazing visuals and emotional depth. Riot announced the animated series on the tenth anniversary of League of Legends, but back when the game was launched, no one knew what potential the story held. In addition to that, we never thought that the screen adaptation of a multiplayer video game would do wonders to this extent.
In 2021, Arcane was one of the most trending topics among the cinephiles, and now, finally, we are heading towards the second season. It would be safe to say that things will be the same for the animated series. However, with the excitement comes a disappointment that Arcane will end with Season 2. While Arcane’s co-creator stated that Arcane’s end doesn’t mean the end of League of Legends Lore, fans also wonder if Riot is planning something for one of its other most extensive properties, ie. Valorant.
Valorant Animated Movie Is Already in the Works
In 2023, a rumor surfaced stating that Riot had already started working on an animated film that would see characters from Valorant. The leak also hinted that the film will be released sometime in 2025. Besides that, the news also intrigued fans by stating that an official teaser for the same will be released on YouTube on October 12, 2024. Well, that didn’t happen, so we can say that the rumor wasn’t fully right.
As there’s no information from the official sources, we can assume that it was nothing more than a rumor. However, that doesn’t mean that Valorant will never make it to the screens. Riot has two biggest properties under its umbrella.
Since we’ve got Arcane from LoL, we’ll surely see a dedicated TV show centered around Valorant. In fact, Riot has been setting up the perfect lore for Valorant through its cinematic videos.
Valorant’s Lore Is Getting as Big as League of Legends
Like League of Legends has champions, Valorant has agents whom the player controls in the video game. Each agent comes with unique abilities that the player has to master for an incredible playing experience. When Valorant was first released in 2020, there were only eight agents available. But now that it has been four years since the game’s release, we have been blessed with 26 agents in total. Seeing the multiplayer game’s popularity, I don’t think it will take much time for it to reach the League of Legends level.
Valorant follows the conflict between the Alpha Earth and the Omega Earth. The former, being the good guys, have to stop their villainous counterparts from Omega Earth from stealing radianite and giving them permanent damage. Every agent has their own backstories and ambitions that will only make sense when adapted into a television series like Arcane.
Also, information regarding the crucial substance radianite needs to be explored, so Riot must plan to bring a series based on Valorant soon. Moreover, the Cinematics and the music videos released every now and then make fans crave a Valorant animated series even more.
