Later, an ice-type version of it was seen in the Alola region. Vulpix and Ninetales were already a top tier Pokemon, and with the CD, they’ll become even better.

Vulpix Pokemon GO Community Day Date and Time
The Vulpix Pokemon Go Community Day in February 2026 takes place over three hours. We have listed the start and the end times below.
- Start Date and Time: Sunday, February 1, 2026, 2 PM Local Time
- End Date and Time: Sunday, February 1, 2026, 5 PM Local Time
After three hours of the Pokemon event, you can still evolve your Vulpix to get the exclusive move, but there won’t be any spawns.
Community Day Spawns and Shiny Rate

During the Pokemon GO February 2026 Community Day, there will be increased Vulpix spawns in the wild. The Vulpix you encounter may also have a special background. It is recommended that you stock up on Ultra and Great Balls to effortlessly catch all the spawning Pokemon without worrying about them breaking out.
Like any other Community Day, the shiny rate of Vulpix will be drastically increased to 1 in 25 (4%), instead of the standard shiny rate. Players can increase their chances of getting a shiny by encountering as many Pokemon as possible. Make sure to click on every Pokemon you find.
Vulpix Community Day Bonuses
During the Vulpix Pokemon GO Community Day, players can utilise the following bonuses during the event:
- Increased Vulpix Spawns
- 3x more XP for catching Pokemon
- 3-hour Incense duration (excluding Daily Adventure Incense)
- 1-hour Lures duration (excluding Golden Lure Modules)
- 2× increased Catch Candy
- 2× increased chance to receive Candy XL from catching Pokemon
- One additional Special Trade can be made (max 3 for the day)
- Trades with Friends will require 50% less Stardust compared to normal days
- From 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time, there is a very high chance of the featured Pokemon appearing at PokeStops with active regular Lure Modules
- Players can look out for Showcases at different PokeStops
To maximise on the bonuses, make sure that you use an Incense at the start of the event, with a Starpiece to get extra stardust gains. If you don’t have them, consider buying from the in-game store using PokeCoins. You can keep a fire-type or ice-type Mega Evolution in your party for extra candy bonuses.
Trade as many Pokemon as possible, including the ones you’ve saved, for a chance to get one with good stats. Don’t forget to complete your special trade by trading Shinies and Legendaries with friends.
Exclusive Move for Vulpix Community Day

Players can evolve Vulpix (Kanto and Alolan) during the event or up to four hours afterwards to get a Nintales that knows the following Charged Attack:
- Energy Ball (Grass-type Charged Attack): Kanto Ninetales
- Trainer Battles: 90 power
- Gyms and raids: 90 power
- Chilling Water (Water-type Charged Attack): Alolan Ninetales
- Trainer Battles: 60 power and lowers the opposing Pokemon’s Attack by one stage
- Gyms and raids: 65 power
Energy Ball and Chilling Water are great coverage moves to have on your Ninetales. We recommend that you get at least three Ninetales with the move, given they have a good IV.
