One that may catch you a little off guard, given that the theme today is a tad vague. Well, your boy still managed to solve it without much of a hassle, and is here to help you out. Every Strands game has that one Spangram that you need to decipher and today’s was no exception. The hint for today’s Spangram is – “Tabletop games are also called____”.
Theme Words Hints for Today’s Strands
If you have figured out the Spangram from the above hint, figuring out the theme words will be easy. However, I don’t want to ruin it for you. Instead, here are three theme word hints that may help you:

Spangram Answer for NYT Strands on June 17
The Spangram for today’s NYT Strands puzzle is BOARDGAMES, and it runs from bottom to top in the letters grid.

Anyway, with that being said, let’s go to the next section. However, proceed only if you are ready to check out the theme words.
List of Theme Words for NYT Strands on June 17
If you have scrolled this far, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:
- MONOPOLY
- RISK
- BATTLESHIP
- TROUBLE
- CLUE
- SORRY
While I had no idea what the Strands theme today suggested, I couldn’t help but instantly notice MONOPOLY in the top left. Once that turned out to be a theme word, I found RISK and TROUBLE right under it. BOARDGAMES turned out to be the Spangram, of course.
However, after doing that good, my limited board game knowledge came to an end and I couldn’t find anything on the grids anymore. I had to use a hint, and that gave me CLUE. In the bottom right, I finally spotted BATTLESHIPS, which was my absolute favorite game growing up. The last few grids were housing SORRY, and that was it for today’s Strands!
