List of Theme Words for NYT Strands on April 12

If you have scrolled this far, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:

  • POMPOM
  • MURMUR
  • MAMA
  • GOGO
  • TUTU
  • CANCAN
  • COUSCOUS

The theme instantly made me think about words that repeat themselves. I was right, sort of, for I found REPETITION as the Spangram right off the bat. It fooled me though, for I took the round to be too easy. Found POMPOM and MURMUR at the top left. At the bottom left, there was MAMA. Sadly, that was where my wit train came to a halt.

I started making random words on the grid and that led me to find GOGO and TUTU. With the last few letters left to be solved, I was stuck. I had to use up a hint and that taught me the existence of COUSCOUS as a word. From the last grids, I made CANCAN, and that concluded my game for the day. I just had to use that one hint, sigh.

What about you? Did you find it to be deceptively easy as well? If not, how many hints did you use? Let me know in the comments down below!
