How Does Midnight Die in My Hero Academia?
In the Paranormal Liberation arc, when the villains planned to ambush the hero society with numerous attacks without giving them a chance to attack back, Midnight was among those heroes who risked her life without thinking twice. Midnight was not only a potent combatant but also an intelligent R-rated hero, which made her a tough opponent for the villains.
However, when Midnight decided to fight Shigaraki’s trump card, Gigantomachia, it proved to be the worst decision the Pro Hero ever made. In Chapter 278 and Episode 120, Midnight climbs on the huge beast’s back to make him fall asleep, but she isn’t aware that another potent MHA villain, Mr. Compress, is already on his back. So, while she was about to attack Gigantomachia, another villain ambushed her.
Mr. Compress released numerous debris on her that eventually crashed her down from a great height. She was still in a conscious state, but as Midnight received severe injuries, she couldn’t stand on her feet. That’s when a small group of villains led by a masked man attacked her. After that, we do not have any clue how they killed her as the entire sequence took place offscreen.
Midnight’s Death Was Heavily Devastating
Kohei Horikoshi is an author who can tug at your heartstrings with the most brutal death sequences in the manga. So, it’s obviously not the first time that fans were devastated witnessing a death. But, Midnight was one such character who made her place in the majority of the fans’ hearts, so seeing their favourite character getting a brutal death shattered every one of them.
Moreover, in the manga, when the students of U.A. High School found their mentor’s body in such a state, they were shattered. Seeing Midnight getting a shocking death made them realize that a hero should never be afraid of their fate as their lives are full of uncertainties.
