- Project Spicewood is said to have similar gameplay to Minecraft Dungeons and is expected to be released by the second quarter of 2026.
- XOXLEAK has posted a leak on Project Spicewood stating several main areas and POIs that seem similar to the ones originally present in Minecraft.
- The Minecraft community has lots of hopes for this game, which has been in the development stage for the past two years, around the same time Minecraft Dungeons stopped.
The Minecraft community is abuzz with discussion about a potential spin-off game known as Project Spicewood. Lots of spin-off titles for Minecraft came and went because they were not interesting enough. However, Spicewood seems to have what the community is looking for: an action-packed story-based version of their very favorite game: Minecraft. With that said, let’s explore all the leaks and speculations around Spicewood up to now.
Project Spicewood: A Successor to Minecraft Dungeons?
Based on leaks, Spicewood is said to launch around Q2 2026. When Mojang stopped Minecraft Dungeons, the community started looking for alternative titles with similar gameplay and story. Finally, a new leak posted by a group of data miners, XOXLEAK, shows the development of a Minecraft spinoff that is supposedly a sequel to Minecraft Dungeons.
It is also said to have been under the development process for the past two years, and started around the same time Minecraft Dungeons ceased. The post on X lists down several main areas and points of interest that are going to be featured in Spicewood. The supposed Minecraft Spicewood areas are as follows:
- Honeycomb Fields: Includes Underfill, Farm, Island, Lake, Fields, and Forests.
- Desert Biomes: Features areas like Cliff, Fortress, Mountain, Village, and Icelagoon.
- Forest Biomes: Here you’ll find the Entrance to the Deep Dark, an Outpost Entrance, Witchzone, and a Shady Forest.
- Towns: This area remains unclear, although it is another key location as well.
From these areas, we can find many similarities between the Minecraft world and Spicewood. However, as of now, Mojang has not yet confirmed these leaks and has not said anything about the existence of Project Spicewood.
So, until Mojang officially announces Project Spicewood, take these leaks with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, we must mention the X account making these claims has been known to make reliable Marvel Rivals leaks. Hopefully, these rumours will come true as the community eagerly waits for a game similar to Minecraft Dungeons and faces all new challenges, biomes, and boss fights.
