Where to Find Echo in Fisch and Start Fangsplitter Rod Quest?
You will find Echo in the underground music venue of Fisch. The NPC has red and brown hair with a set of dog ears. Once you are there, talk to Echo, select “I’ll prove it.”, and the Fangsplitter Rod quest starts.

How to Unlock Fangsplitter Rod in Fisch
To obtain the Fangsplitter Rod in Fisch, you need to complete all the tasks given by Echo. Here is the list of objectives and tips to complete them quickly:
Fangsplitter Rod Quest 1: Rubber Ducks Rule the World
The first task to unlock the Fangsplitter Rod is: Perfect catch a Rubber Ducky 7 times using the Nocturnal Rod in Fisch. You can fish up the Rubber Ducky inside Vertigo (specifically at Vertigo’s Dip) during rainy weather at any time of day with no specific bait preference.
To complete the objective, purchase the Nocturnal Rod for 15,000C$ from Synth’s Shop inside Vertigo and keep the fish indicator inside the catch bar without losing progress a single time during the reeling minigame. Pairing the rod with high-resilience bait like Coral or Deep Coral makes securing all 7 Perfect Catches effortless.

Fangsplitter Rod Quest 2: Glistening Madness
For the second task, you need to “Catch and return 1 Shiny or Sparkling Withered Colossal Squid.” You can catch the Colossal Squid in the Ocean or Deep Ocean (including inside the Snowcap Cave pool or the Ancient Archives waterfall) during foggy Winter nights using Night Shrimp bait.
Withered is a mutation you cannot get through appraising in Fisch. You must catch the squid directly using the Withered Spear (25% chance) or the Decade Rod (10% chance). You can stack the spear or rod with Shiny and Sparkling odds via a Shiny Surge, Night of the Luminous, Rainbow weather, or the Blessed/Glittered enchantments in Fisch.
Fangsplitter Rod Quest 3: Days Turn to Nights, Nights to Days
The third task to get the Fangsplitter Rod in Fisch requires not much effort. You just need to remain in-game for 7 full day cycles. Luckily, Sundial totems in Fisch help you complete this task quickly. Make sure you are completing a Day -> Night -> Day cycle to make one full day count.
Fangsplitter Rod Quest 4: Wingripper Pt. 2
To complete the fourth Echo quest, you must “Catch and return 1 Shiny or Sparkling Distraught Enchant Relic in Fisch“. You can fish up an Enchant Relic anywhere in the game. Farming inside The Depths yields the highest catch rates since its loot pool boosts Relic odds significantly over the standard 1-in-350 global chance.
To get the unappraisable Distraught mutation alongside Shiny or Sparkling, catch the Relic using the Dreambreaker Rod. It grants a 35% chance for Distraught at night and 25% during the day. Either stack Blessed/Glittered enchantments or take your Distraught Relic to the Appraiser during a Shiny Surge or Night of the Luminous (since Shiny and Sparkling are permanent attributes that roll independently without wiping out existing mutations).
Fangsplitter Rod Final Quest: The End
The final quest to unlock Fangsplitter Rod in Fisch is: Perfect catch any Megalodon using the Nocturnal Rod 7 times. You can hook a Megalodon, Ancient Megalodon, or Phantom Megalodon inside the Megalodon Hunt pool behind Ancient Isle using Shark Head or Tryhard Worm bait.
Because the Nocturnal Rod only has a 10,000kg base weight limit while Megalodons start at 50,000kg, you must first boost its capacity with the Invincible enchantment (+inf Max Kg) or a Cosmic Relic secondary enchantment (+50,000 Max Kg) paired with Herculean (+25,000 Max Kg and +0.2 Control).
Then keep the fish inside the catch bar without losing progress, even through its bar-shrinking rampage attacks, to secure all 7 Perfect Catches. Once done, return to Echo and interact again to get the Fangsplitter Rod in your inventory.
