Marvel Rivals Season 2 is now out, and excitement among the fans is growing with each new update. The new Marvel Rivals Season 2 update (#0250411) brings a new hero, plenty of new skins, a battle pass, and a brand-new map, among other fixes and optimizations. All New Content in Marvel Rivals Season 2
The Marvel Rivals Season 2 update brings plenty of new content that includes the new hero, Emma Frost. While Ultron is also set for release, he will not arrive until half of the season is over. Here are the full Marvel Rivals Season 2 patch notes for new content:
New Heroes and Costumes
- Emma Frost makes her grand entrance into Marvel Rivals! Prepare for her diamond-hard control and psionic prowess.
- Although she comes alone, she brings two iconic Marvel Rivals skins along with her: Emma Frost – X-Revolution and Emma Frost – Blue Sapphire.

New Maps and Modes
- New Domination Map: Hellfire Gala: Krakoa. Prepare for a glamorous showdown on Krakoa!
- Map Rotation Update:
- Hellfire Gala: Krakoa enters the Competitive map pool.
- Yggsgard: Royal Palace and Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya has been retired from the Competitive map pool.
- Tournament maps will align with the Competitive map pool.
- Quick Match and Custom Game will continue to feature all maps without rotation.
- Quick Match Substitute Player Logic: Optimized settlement logic. Victories for substitute players will now count normally, while losses will not impact combat history or the scoreboard.
Battle Pass and Season Events
- New Battle Pass: Unlock a shiny new Battle Pass featuring 10 brand-new sets of heroic costumes!
- Season Event – Cerebro Database: A new Marvel Rivals event for free skin arrives with the Season 2 patch! Participate to earn the free costume Mantis – Flora Maiden.
- Bonus Seasonal Rewards: Complete 9 matches to receive the free costume Scarlet Witch – Chaos Gown.
- Twitch Drops Event: A new Twitch Drops event is live! Earn the Namor – Will of Galacta free Marvel Rivals skin, nameplate, spray, and emote.
- Mission System Revamp:
- New weekly missions and rewards have been added.
- The balance of daily and challenge missions has been adjusted.
- Overall Chrono Token distribution remains the same.
- The proportion of hero-specific missions has been reduced.
Ranked Update
- Rank Reset: Based on your final Season 1.5 rank, ranks will be demoted by 9 divisions. (e.g., Diamond I in Season 1.5 starts at Silver I in Season 2).
- New Rank Rewards:
- Reach Gold to earn the dazzling new costume: Emma Frost – Golden Diamond.
- New Crests of Honor for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and Top 500 ranks.
- Competitive Minimum Level: The minimum level required for new players to participate in Competitive has been adjusted to 15. (Players who have previously completed at least one valid competitive match can still join Competitive in Season 2.0 even if below level 15.)
- Pick/Ban Update: The Pick/ban phase will now begin at Gold III rank (previously Diamond).
- Queue Restrictions: When a team includes players from Eternity or One Above All ranks, only solo or duo queuing will be allowed.
- Competitive Score Adjustment: After the Season 2.0 launch, the weight of individual performance in determining earned/lost points per Competitive match will be increased. Better individual performance will result in more points gained on victory and fewer points lost on defeat.
Tournament Updates
- Marvel Rivals Championship Season 2:
- Champion, runner-up, and third-place nameplates have been upgraded to dynamic designs.
- Adjusted rank requirements and a revised sign-up phase. Refer to the Marvel Rivals Championship rules for full details.
- Global Tournament Region Enhancement:
- North America (NA) is now Americas (AMERICAS).
- Europe (EU) is now Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
- Asia (AS) is now Pacific (PACIFIC).
- This change provides a more compatible and organized classification of server nodes across regions.
- Knockout Stage Faction Search: A new faction search function has been added.
- Tournament Overview Revamp: Players can now quickly access core tournament information visually, with detailed explanations of each process and rules for advancement/elimination.
- Championship Nameplate Emblem Customization: Players with a Championship Emblem can now customize its display in Career – Customize.
- New Custom Game – Tournament Room Option: Features additional tournament-related functionalities.
- Custom Game – Tournament Room Pause Function: The room host and authorized players can now initiate a game pause.
- Custom Game – Tournament Room “Away” Feature: Non-host players can set their status to away, visible to others in the room.
Faction Updates
- New Faction Recruit and Seeking Factions System: Factions and players can now use this system to form squads for in-game tournaments.
- New Faction Emblems: A fresh batch of faction emblems has been added. Players can freely switch emblems in the faction details interface.
- Faction Reporting Functionality: Players can now report inappropriate custom content for factions (names, abbreviations, and announcements).
General Updates
- New Friend Gifting Feature: You can now gift cosmetics to your friends.
- Career Overview – Hero Form Selection: Now supports the selection of specific hero forms.
- Career – Rank Leaderboard Display: Rank leaderboard display has been added to the Career page.
- Real-time Voice Chat Optimization: An interface prompt now appears when activating voice chat using push to talk.

Graphics and Settings
- Experimental Feature: Switch Shader Compilation Mode. When activated, shaders will only compile the first time you launch the game after a new version or graphics driver update. This can significantly reduce memory usage and minimize in-game stuttering, especially on systems with 16 GB of RAM or less.
- Note: If using a CPU with fewer threads in combination with AMD FSR3 Frame Generation, occasional additional stutters may occur with this feature enabled. This is an experimental feature; please contact support if you encounter issues.
- AMD FSR 4 Support: Added support for AMD FSR 4, utilizing an AI-accelerated upscaling algorithm for improved image quality over AMD FSR 3.1. (Exclusive to AMD Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics cards).

New Team-Up Ability
Arcane Order (Doctor Strange – Scarlet Witch)
- As the Team-Up Anchor, Doctor Strange gains a maximum health increase of 100.
- Scarlet Witch unlocks a new magical Mystic Burst ability through her team-up with Doctor Strange.
Stars Aligned (Captain America – Winter Soldier)
- As the Team-Up Anchor, Captain America gains a maximum health increase of 100 and a 5% boost in damage output.
- Winter Soldier unlocks the devastating Stellar Impact ability through his team-up with Captain America.
Mental Projection (Emma Frost – Psylocke/Magneto)
- As the Team-Up Anchor, Emma Frost gains a maximum health increase of 100.
- Magneto receives the Magnetic Resonance ability through his team-up with Emma Frost.
- Psylocke receives the Soul Resurgence ability through her team-up with Emma Frost.

Ammo Overload (Rocket Racoon – Winter Soldier)
- Winter Soldier loses the Infinite Grit ability he once had through his team-up with Rocket Raccoon.
Chilling Charisma (Luna Snow – Namor)
- Namor has lost the Frozen Spawn ability from his team-up with Luna Snow.
Dimensional Shortcut (Magik – Psylocke)
- Psylocke has lost the Psionic Disc ability previously attained from her team-up with Magik.
Gamma Charge (Hulk -Doctor Strange/Namor)
- Doctor Strange loses the Gamma Maelstrom ability previously gained from his team-up with Hulk.
- Namor now gains the Gamma Monstro ability through his team-up with Hulk.
Metallic Chaos (Scarlet Witch – Magneto)
- The Team-Up Anchor enhancement effect for Scarlet Witch has been removed, along with the Metallic Chaos Team-Up Ability.
- Magneto loses the Metallic Fusion ability he had through his team-up with Scarlet Witch.
Voltaic Union (Thor – Captain America/Storm)
- The Team-Up Anchor effect for Thor has been removed, along with the Voltaic Union Team-Up Ability.
- Captain America loses the Charged Aegis ability from his team-up with Thor.
- Storm loses the Charged Gale ability gained from her team-up with Thor.
