Resident Evil Requiem is a proper love letter to the franchise, baking every signature element of the series into one delicious package. The title is also packed with many callbacks to older Resident Evil games, an example being the dilapidated ruins of Raccoon City. You might’ve also heard rumors of cameos from major characters, including an appearance from the infamous Albert Wesker.

Wesker, the franchise’s overarching antagonist, was the primary rival to Chris Redfield. He was also killed in satisfying fashion during the events of Resident Evil 5, and hasn’t appeared in an RE game since (RE4 Remake being the obvious exception). So, if the character were to pop up in Requiem, it would be a pretty huge deal. And if you’re wondering if these rumors are true, here’s everything to know about Wesker in Resident Evil Requiem.

Spoiler Warning!

The following segment includes Resident Evil Requiem story spoilers. Scroll down at your own risk.

Is Wesker in Resident Evil Requiem?

No, Albert Wesker does not have a cameo in Resident Evil Requiem. While the game features many familiar locations and even enemies, Wesker is unfortunately not one of them. As far as the franchise canon is concerned, the villain was burned to ash after being tossed into an active volcano in Resident Evil 5.

While we’re on the subject, there’s also no Ada Wong cameo in Resident Evil 9 – it sucks, I know. The reason why rumors surrounding Wesker caught fire online is tied to a brand-new villain named Zeno, who shares an uncanny resemblance with the iconic character.

Who is Zeno in Resident Evil Requiem?

Zeno is a new villain in Resident Evil Requiem who looks a lot like Albert Wesker, but the two characters are still different entities. Zeno shares the same look as Wesker, down to the slicked-back hair/sunglasses combo and the immaculate drip. The character even has similar powers, including super speed and the ability to dodge bullets.

Despite these traits, the game doesn’t draw a direct relation between the two. For the time being, it’s easy to think of Zeno as a potential Wesker clone, but the RE9 story certainly doesn’t hint at this being the case.
