Most people wonder whether Final Destination 1 and 5 are connected. The answer is that they are connected. Final Destination 5 serves as the prequel to the first Final Destination film. It revolves around a group of people who trick death after one of them has a premonition. Death comes to take each one of them one by one.

However, the lead duo, Molly and Sam, manage to escape until the end, but when they take a sigh of relief and board plane 180 to Paris, they eventually die in the explosion. That’s when the audience realizes that it is the prequel story that takes place before the events of the 2000 film.

Final Destination

Final Destination was released in 2000, and that’s when we first realized that no one can cheat death. Everything begins when a high schooler named Alex protects several people from getting killed in a plane explosion. Yes, it was the same plane that was carrying Molly and Sam to Paris, but it exploded mid-air, killing everyone who boarded the flight. However, even after escaping their dark fates, Alex and his friends can’t run from death for long; death hunts and takes them in the most gruesome manner.

The draw here is that it kills the survivors in the same order they died in the vision. However, unlike the other characters, Alex doesn’t die on screen; instead, it all happens off-screen after the events of the film.

Final Destination 2

Final Destination 2 starts with Kimberly Corman, who has a premonition while driving her car. The vision shows her dying with her friends in a road accident. So, she steps forward and prevents the damage from taking place. Soon, she learns about the events of the first film and heads out to meet Clear, the sole survivor of the Flight 180 incident.

He reveals death’s plan to her, and later, the gruesome killings start occurring. In the end, Kimberly’s fate remains unresolved because she appears safe in the epilogue, but after that, the character doesn’t reappear in any of the Final Destination films.

Final Destination 3

The third film sees a senior high school student named Wendy Christensen, who escapes death along with her friend after having a vivid premonition while boarding a roller coaster at an amusement park. Following that, she and her fellow survivors start getting chased by death. Wendy teams up with one of her classmates, Kevin, who knew about the Flight 180 explosion. This is the first film of the franchise that didn’t see William Bludworth’s involvement.

The Final Destination

The Final Destination revolves around a group who were supposed to die in a tragedy while attending a stock car race. However, after escaping death, the survivors start dying in the same order that they were bound to die. Unlike the previous films, The Final Destination doesn’t leave the fate of its lead character ambiguous, as he dies in a coffee shop that a truck crashes into.
