  • Ghost of Yotei's Photo Mode can be accessed by pressing right on the D-pad.
  • The mode allows you to take pictures during your gameplay.
  • Photo Mode is not available for use during cutscenes.

Ghost of Tsushima’s photo mode was lauded as one of the best photo modes you can’t find in any other game for capturing stunning sceneries across Japan. Now, the most-anticipated sequel, Ghost of Yotei, is bringing back the fan-favorite feature with a few updates. If you are eager to click eye-catching landscapes of Ezo or the bloody battles of Atsu, here is our guide on how to access the photo mode and use it to snap amazing photos in Ghost of Yotei.

How to Enter Photo Mode and Capture Photos in Ghost of Yotei?

Thankfully, the photo mode feature is available right from the moment you begin your journey as Atsu in Ghost of Yotei. You can use the photo mode at any time, whether you’re riding a horse or clashing against ronins (except during cutscenes). In line with its predecessor, GOY also offers a variety of settings in photo mode, such as depth of field, photo filters, changing Atsu’s facial expressions, options to change time and weather, and adjusting wind speed.

Without any further ado, here is how you can enter the photo mode to take incredible pictures in Ghost of Yotei:

  1. Press the ‘Right D-Pad button‘ to access the photo mode whenever you want to.
  2. Then, fine-tune your picture by adjusting the different settings to get the best look.
  3. Once you are done, you need to hide the HUD by pressing the ‘triangle’ button.
  4. Unfortunately, Ghost of Yotei doesn’t have a save picture option, just like its predecessor.
  5. Thus, you need to press the ‘create/share’ button and select the screenshot button to capture your image.

All the images you captured can be found in your PlayStation’s Media Gallery. I don’t know why Sucker Punch Productions decided not to include the option to save your picture right away, like many other games do. Nevertheless, the tracking mode, the option to switch time and weather, and adding different leaves, made me fall in love with the sequel game’s photo mode yet again.

I often found myself stopping by and clicking some of the beautiful photos I’ve ever captured in a video game in Ghost of Yotei. That said, let us know your thoughts about the photo mode in Ghost of Yotei in the comments below.
