Epic Games recently launched the v40.40 update and raised the stakes for competitive players with the addition of Fortnite Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas. While the standard Victory Umbrella is a badge for a single win, these new variants showcase players’ dedicated grind in Chapter 7 Season 2. Here is everything you need to know about getting these Mastery Umbrellas.
How to Unlock All Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas in Fortnite
You can earn the Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas in Fortnite by accumulating wins in the Showdown Rivalries event. These wins are tracked separately from your standard Victory Royales. You can only earn these wins by successfully completing Rivalry Contracts or defeating a given Rival during a match.
There are a total of 3 different Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas that you can obtain. These are distributed across three distinct tiers based on your total career Rivalry wins. These are:
- Rivalry Master Umbrella: Reach 150 Rivalry Wins.
- Rivalry Grandmaster Umbrella: Reach 500 Rivalry Wins.
- Rivalry GOAT Umbrella: Reach 1,000 Rivalry Wins.
It is important to remember that playing a match normally will not help you progress towards these Umbrellas. You need to actively engage with the Fortnite Rivalry mechanic introduced in Chapter 7 Season 2. For this, you need to interact with Rivalry Stations, which are marked with the crossed-swords icon on your map.
A Rivalry Win is only counted if you secure the final blow against your Rival. If your Rival is eliminated by a third party or the Storm, the contract is considered “Contested,” and you will only receive half the Rival Credits. To ensure your win counts towards your Mastery Umbrella, make sure you are the one to claim the Rivalry Tag that your Rival drops when eliminated by another player.
Of course, the 1,000-win milestone is extremely steep to conquer. With Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 less than a month away, players need to grind hard if they want to unlock all three Mastery Umbrellas. This is because the Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas will be unavailable to claim when Chapter 7 Season 2 ends.
