Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is set to launch Honor 8C smartphone in India in the coming week that will have 4,000mAh battery and 6.26-inch Notch FullView Display, industry sources told IANS today.
Packed with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, the mid-price segment device is expected to come in two memory variants – 4GB RAM+64GB and 6GB RAM+64GB.
Earlier this month, Huawei launched the Honor 10 Lite in China, with a 6.21-inch display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-Core CPU, featuring 4GB RAM, and with a price tag around Rs 21,990.
Contrary to what one might expect, Honor is not launching the Honor Magic 2 this week, prefering to go against the budget Redmi Note 6 Pro, which will be launched on November 23 in India. The Honor Magic 2 might be launched next month following the launch of the Huawei Mate 20 lineup, which is expected to happen later this month.
It would make sense that Huawei would want to show off the new Kirin 980 SoC in its flagship Mate 20 series in India, before the Honor Magic 2 which also has the same 7nm chipset, which is set to bring a ton of AI-powered video features to the phones.
Honor claimed to have sold over 1 million units of Honor products during the Diwali festive period, with “Honor 9N” and “Honor 8X” being the most popular products on Flipkart’s Big Billion Days and Amazon India respectively on the first selling day.
The brand sold over 6 million units of the recently launched Honor 8X globally, becoming the top “Singles Day” performer in terms of sales volume and revenue under the smartphone category.
