Update: added new best teams and tips for HSR 3.8 Anomaly Arbitration
Anomaly Arbitration is the endgame mode of all endgames in Honkai Star Rail. This mode is only available for veteran players who have cleared all the other endgame modes. Players must have the best characters, alongside their best builds, to even reach the final stage of this game mode. If you are struggling with HSR Anomaly Arbitration mode, here is a complete guide to help you out.
How to Unlock Anomaly Arbitration in Honkai Star Rail
Unlocking Anomaly Arbitration is simple and complicated at the same time. That’s because you need to complete the other endgame modes first to unlock it. Here are the requirements to unlock Anomaly Arbitration in HSR:
- Memory of Chaos: All stages cleared with 3 stars
- Pure Fiction: All stages cleared with 3 stars
- Apocalypse Shadow: All stages cleared with 3 stars
Once you have unlocked the Anomaly Arbitration game mode, here is how you can clear each stage in Honkai Star Rail.
How to Clear HSR Anomaly Arbitration Stage
Honkai Star Rail Anomaly Arbitration is not a free-to-play-friendly game mode. This mode requires you to have the best possible teams equipped with their best builds. You might also need to have Constellations for your characters if you want to win comfortably.
The following section has the guide for each stage of Anomaly Arbitration. Follow them carefully so you can easily grab all the rewards for each stage:
First Stage Knight
The first Knight in the current phase of Anomaly Arbitration has the following traits and weaknesses:
- Inversion: Each time after the enemy target is attacked, the attacker will lose HP equal to 2% of their own Max HP. This effect is Non-fatal.
- Weakness: Lightning and Ice
This stage is clearly made for characters that benefit from losing HP. So, Castorice teams will obviously be one of the better teams. Other than that, any team with good sustain and the correct elements should work out. Here are the best teams for stage 1:
DPS Support Support Sustain / Support Castorice Tribbie Evernight Hyacine Phainon Sunday Cerydra Dan Heng Permansor Terrae Aglaea Sunday Bronya Hyacine The Herta Tribbie Anaxa Hyacine
Second Stage Knight
The second Knight has the following traits and weaknesses:
- Tempering: For every 1% HP the enemy target loses, reduces CRIT DMG dealt to them by 3%.
- Weakness: Imaginary and Fire
With enemies taking lower Crit DMG as they lose HP, this stage is clearly for Break and DoT teams. Here are the best teams for stage 2:
| DPS | Support | Support | Sustain / Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firefly | The Dahlia | Fugue | Lingsha |
| Rappa | The Dahlia | Fugue | Lingsha |
| Hysilens | Kafka | Anaxa | Gallagher |
Third Stage Knight
The third stage boss is the strongest among the Knights, having two different traits. Here are its traits and weaknesses.
- Taunting: Enemy target takes immediate action after being attacked 6 times. This tally resets at the start of the enemy target’s turn.
- Interference: After the enemy target uses an attack, randomly causes 5% or 10% action delay to the attacked target.
- Weakness: Imaginary, Physical
The enemies in this team will take a ton of action based on the times they are attacked. So, characters who deal more burst damage will be favorable for this stage. Here are the best teams for stage 3:
DPS Support Support Sustain Phainon Sunday Cerydra Huohuo / Lingsha / Dan Heng PT Rappa The Dahlia Fugue Lingsha Boothill Sunday Fugue The Dahlia
Fourth Stage King
Finally, you will come across the King after defeating all the Knights in the previous stages. Here are the traits and weaknesses of the King:
- Resilient Armor+: Enemy target initially has 3 stacks of “Resilient Armor+,” and each stack reduces DMG taken 15%. Enemy targets lose 1 stack of “Resilient Armor+” each time their Toughness is reduced to 0. Stacks of this effect will reset at each of the enemy target’s phase.
- Depowered: When entering combat, reduces the ally target’s Energy by 50% and decreases their Energy Regeneration Rate by 50% outside of their turn for 2 turns.
- Unending Refinement: After the enemy target takes DMG, reduces DMG taken by this unit by 2% and CRIT DMG taken by 4%, stacking up to 10 times. These stacks are cleared when the enemy target’s turn begins or when they enter the Weakness Break state. While the enemy target is in the Weakness Break state, stacks cannot be accumulated.
- Weaknesses: Fire
This is the strongest stage in Anomaly Arbitration and will require your characters to have their best possible builds to clear. First, the king can tank a ton of damage, unless you break his toughness bar. This makes it clear that this fight is for Break teams or Break builds only.
With everything said and done, here are the best teams for the King stage in Anomaly Arbitration:
| DPS | Support | Support | Sustain / Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firefly | The Dahlia | Fugue | Lingsha / Gallagher |
| Boothill | The Dahlia | Fugue | Lingsha / Gallagher |
| Rappa | The Dahlia | Fugue | Lingsha / Gallagher |
