Unlocking Anomaly Arbitration is simple and complicated at the same time. That’s because you need to complete the other endgame modes first to unlock it. Here are the requirements to unlock Anomaly Arbitration in HSR:

  • Memory of Chaos: All stages cleared with 3 stars
  • Pure Fiction: All stages cleared with 3 stars
  • Apocalypse Shadow: All stages cleared with 3 stars

Once you have unlocked the Anomaly Arbitration game mode, here is how you can clear each stage in Honkai Star Rail.

How to Clear HSR Anomaly Arbitration Stage

Honkai Star Rail Anomaly Arbitration is not a free-to-play-friendly game mode. This mode requires you to have the best possible teams equipped with their best builds. You might also need to have Constellations for your characters if you want to win comfortably.

The following section has the guide for each stage of Anomaly Arbitration. Follow them carefully so you can easily grab all the rewards for each stage:

First Stage Knight

The first Knight in the current phase of Anomaly Arbitration has the following traits and weaknesses:

  • Tempering: For every 1% HP the enemy target loses, reduces CRIT DMG dealt to them by 3%.
  • Weakness: Wind and Fire

This stage is clearly made for characters that deal either Break or DoT damage. So, Firefly break teams or Kafka with Black Swan would be enough to complete this stage. Other than that, any team with good sustain and the correct elements should work out. Here are the best teams for stage 1:

Second Stage Knight

The second Knight has the following traits and weaknesses:

  • Inversion: Each time after the enemy target is attacked, the attacker will lose HP equal to 2% of their own Max HP. This effect is Non-fatal.
  • Depowered: When entering combat, reduces ally target’s Energy by 50% and decreases their Energy Regeneration Rate by 50% outside of their turn for 2 turns.
  • Weakness: Quantum and Ice

This knight will be a clear favorite for health-draining teams. This means Castorice will shine once again. Phainon will also excel against this enemy, as he will be mostly unaffected by the restrictions. Other than that, you can also go for The Herta teams or other teams with the correct elements. Third Stage Knight

The third stage boss is the strongest among the Knights, having two different traits. Here are its traits and weaknesses.

  • Honing the Blade: Ally targets initially obtain 10 stack(s) of this effect, with each stack decreasing their own Crit DMG by 15%. This effect cannot be dispelled. Each time any ally target consumes a Skill Point, 1 stack is removed from all ally targets.
  • Weakness: Imaginary, Quantum

The third knight appears to be highly complicated as he reduces the Crit DMG of allies massively from the get-go. The only way to remove this effect is to consume Skill Points, which means either Elation characters or those that heavily use Skill Points will be useful here. So, Archer, or Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae teams, alongside Sparxie and Yao Guang should work. Here are the best teams for stage 3:

Fourth Stage King

Finally, you will come across the King after defeating all the Knights in the previous stages. Here are the traits, Arbitral Quadrant, and weaknesses of the King:

  • Interference+: After the enemy target uses an attack, randomly causes 5% or 20% action delay to the attacked target.
  • Confinement++: Ally targets initially obtain 2 stacks of this effect, with each stack decreasing their own DMG by 30%. This effect cannot be dispelled, and 1 stack is removed after each Ultimate used.
  • Arbitral Quadrant:
    • Elation Instant: This stage has a special Elation Skill. When entering Aha Instant, deals 15 instance(s) of Imaginary Elation DMG to random enemy target. When Aha Instant ends, all allies gain 10% All-Type RES PEN, lasting for 2 turn(s).
    • Tears Behind Smiles: Enemy targets on the sub field recieve 30% more final DMG but cannot take CRIT Hits.
    • Thrilling Delight: Increase all ally targets’ DMG dealt by 40% and increases the SPD of prime field ally target by 40%.
  • Weaknesses: Fire, Quantum (main boss only), Imaginary (main boss only)

This is the strongest stage in Anomaly Arbitration and will require your characters to have their best possible builds to clear. First, the king applies a base DMG reduction to all allies, which can only be removed after using Ultimates. This means teams with faster Ultimates are optimal for this challenge. Furthermore, the Interference+ restriction is more RNG, and you can only counter it using action-forwarding characters.

The Arbitral Quadrant clearly promotes Elation teams, Break teams, and DoT teams for this challenge, so we will also suggest characters based on it. With everything said and done, here are the best teams for the King stage in Anomaly Arbitration:
