- Honkai Star Rail 4.0 will introduce the new playable path Elation, and it will come with its own mechanics.
- The Elation path will have the following mechanics: Elation-type damage, Punchline stacks, Aha Instant, Certified Banger state, Elation skill, and Skill point-based damage scaling.
- The Aeon of Elation also fights alongside Elation characters, which is represented by the Aha Instant mechanic.
Honkai Star Rail 4.0 will add a new path, and like Remembrance in the Amphoreus arc, it will bring multiple new mechanics to HSR combat. One of the most bizarre things about the Elation path is that every Elation character fights alongside their Aeon Aha. Yes, Aha actually appears on the turn order and fights alongside you and your allies, which sounds insane. This path is filled with such unique mechanics, so here is a complete guide on the Honkai Star Rail Elation path.
How Elation Path Mechanics Will Work in Honkai Star Rail?
The Elation path introduces multiple new mechanics. These are a new Elation type damage, Punchline stacks, Aha Instant, Certified Banger state, Elation skill, and Skill point-based damage scaling. Both Sparxie and Yao Guang have these mechanics built into their kits as well. Here is a quick preview of each mechanic you will see in Honkai Star Rail 4.0:
Elation Type Damage
Elation DMG is a newly introduced damage type that will be added with the Elation path. Certain abilities will be able to deal Elation damage when their kit specifies it or specific external conditions are met. Not every ability from Elation characters can trigger the Elation-type damage. Only abilities that specifically mention being able to use it.
The Elation type damage doesn’t scale off of normal DMG%, like the Super Break mechanic. However, it can Crit, unlike Super Break, which makes it much more effective in various scenarios. The Elation DMG scales primarily off the Elation stat, which is also a new stat introduced for 4.0.
Punchline
Punchline is a new stackable mechanic for the Elation path characters. Every Elation character will have abilities that generate Punchline stacks. The punchline stacks are shared by the entire team and are not limited to one character, and they can be obtained based on the Elation amount of your teammates.
The Punchline stacks also have a limit, which increases based on the number of Elation characters in a team. These stacks can be consumed when using the Elation Skill to increase its effectiveness based on the character.
Aha Instant
The Elation path has this unique mechanic where the Aeon of Elation actively takes part in a fight. This is represented by Aha Instant. Aha, the aeon of Elation appears on the turn order at the start of a fight, and she is a separate entity who cannot be targeted either by allies or enemies. Aha’s Speed on the turn order is based on the number of Elation characters in the team.
When Aha’s turn comes during a fight, the Aha Instant is triggered. During Aha Instant, all Elation characters’ Elation Skill will be unlocked, irrespective of their position on the turn order. The Aha Instant also cleanses all Elation Characters of crowd control debuffs and consumes all Punchline Stacks.
Certified Banger
The Certified Banger is a state that all Elation characters enter after an Aha Instant. This state lasts for two turns and allows the Elation characters to snapshot the Punchline stacks consumed during the Aha instant stacks to increase their Elation damage.
Other than that, every Elation character has specific mechanics that are triggered once they enter the Certified Banger state.
Elation Skill
Elation Skill is a new type of Skill that only Elation characters have in their kit. You can compare it with how memosprites are limited to Remembrance characters. Now, Elation Skill only unlocks for Elation characters when Aha Instant is triggered. Damages dealt by the Elation Skill generally deal Elation DMG.
Skill Points Based Damage Scaling
All Elation characters generally have Skill Point-based damage or buffing mechanics. Most DPS Elation characters would consume Skill points to increase their damage, while support Elation characters would either buff allies based on Skill Points consumed or have specific abilities to regenerate Skill points faster for allies.
