Highguard presents players with a brand new world to explore and play on, with a lot of familiar mechanics that come with a hero shooter. However, the game sets itself apart with the inclusion of mounts, allowing Highguard wardens to traverse the map much quicker while also providing you with the ability to engage in combat while staying mobile.
If you are looking to learn all about the new mounts in Highguard, here’s a breakdown of all the mounts and how you can use them.
List of All Available Highguard Mounts

At launch, Highguard features three types of mounts. The mounts share the same base stats for health and speed, and your choice of mount usually boils down to which animal you prefer to have by your side. Here are the three mounts that are available in Highguard at launch:
| Mount | Speciality |
|---|---|
| Horse | The best mount for speed and agility |
| Bear | The tankiest mount of the three, the bear sacrifices speed in favour of strength |
| Panther | Mount with a healthy mix of combat strength and speed |
How to Summon and Use Mounts in Highguard
You can summon mounts in Highuard through Glyphstrands, which serve as mysterious frequencies that the Wardens in Highguard can access.
Mounts can be summoned and dismissed almost anywhere on the map, with nearly instantaneous transition. Players simply need to press X on PC and double-tap the jump button on Xbox and PS5. The settings allow you to set the Up button for summoning mounts, if you prefer. This can allow you to pull off some “drive-by” shootings if the opportunity presents itself.
You can use all of your primary weapons in Highguard, such as Assault Rifles and SMGs, while on your mount. However, recoil is much harder to manage while you are mounted, making drive-bys challenging to pull off. It is also important to remember that mounts have their own health bars.
If your mount is damaged and destroyed, you will be knocked off your mount and left open to damage. While mounts can help you make quick getaways, it is recommended that you not rely on them during tense combat situations.
