Fortnite’s latest Treasure Hunters mini-season is out, and it brings a brand new feature called Pirate Shop, which allows players to get free skins and cosmetic items. Even though players can get free skins and items by completing quests through the latest Fortnite Treasure Hunters Battle Pass, the Pirate Shop lets them get their hands on some pricey loot for free. That said, here’s how you can unlock access to the Fortnite Pirate Shop and get free items.
What Is the Fortnite Pirate Shop?
The Pirate Shop is a brand-new token feature in Fortnite that allows players to purchase a paid Item Shop cosmetic for free for a limited time after activation. These tokens are hard to come by and can only be found in special containers around the Fortnite Treasure Hunters Crossbones Isle map.
However, you cannot use the Fortnite Pirate Shop token for real-money offers, gifting, pass levels, or sidekicks that you already own. So if you want to know how to get the Pirate Shop Access token in Fortnite, we’ve got you covered below.
How to Get Pirate Shop Access Token in Fortnite
To get a Pirate Shop Access token in Fortnite, you’ll need to find and open special containers called Treasure Hunt Chests in the new mini-season island. You’ll find these chests inside buildings of named POIs on the Crossbones Isle map in Fortnite.
As we mentioned earlier, Pirate Shop Access tokens are hard to come by; it’s purely up to luck and RNG if you can find one, since it’s one of the rarest items in Fortnite Treasure Hunters mini-season.
When you find the Pirate Shop Access token out of a Treasure Hunt Chest, the chest will glow golden and throw out some special loot items as well as a Pirate Shop Access token if you’re lucky enough.
But once you find any exclusive Treasure Chest item or the Pirate Access Token, your Fortnite friends who are in your party will also get it for absolutely free. This means even if one of your party members is lucky to find a Pirate Shop Access token, everyone will be able to share their luck.
How to Use Pirate Shop Access to Get Free Skins
The Pirate Shop Access token is used to get paid skins and cosmetic items from the Fortnite Item Shop for absolutely free. Think of these like Costume Coins in Marvel Rivals, but Fortnite’s version is a bit more strict.
Once you unlock a Pirate Shop Access token, you’ll be given a message when you return to the lobby that you can use the token once in 2026 and once in 2027. This means that winning this token gives you two activations. One you can activate from November 1 – December 15, 2026, and the second from January 1 – December 15, 2027.
To use it, head to the Fortnite Item Shop starting November 1, 2026 at 8 PM ET and select any item of your choice, like the Luffy One Piece skin. Then the item page will present you with two options: Buy using V-Bucks, Buy using Pirate Shop Access. Use the Pirate Shop Access token to claim the paid Fortnite cosmetic for free.
Furthermore, when you activate the token, you’ll have only 14 days to claim a paid Fortnite Item Shop cosmetic or skin for free without using any V-Bucks. Moreover, the Pirate Shop Access tokens are non-transferable, which means you cannot share them with a friend.
