Elden Ring Nightreign Revenant Build Guide: Best Tips and Weapons

The Revenant is among the most complex character classes in Elden Ring Nightreign. Bereft of any noteworthy offensive capabilities (at least in a direct sense), the character functions as a spectral summoner who wields Necromancy to reanimate the undead. She typically stays at the edges of the battlefield, managing her phantom family and lending support to her fellow Nightfarers when needed. Using Revenant to her best potential is more about understanding her playstyle than hunting down the best gear. But it’s still well worth pairing her with the best Relics and equipment to bolster the character’s strengths. If you’re looking to learn more, check out our guide on the best Revenant build in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Best Revenant Weapons in Elden Ring Nightreign

The Revenant has one of the smallest HP pools of any class in Elden Ring Nightreign, while also scaling poorly in attributes such as Dexterity, Strength, and Stamina. These drawbacks hold her back from using most melee weapons. Fortunately, she can be an excellent spellcaster thanks to sizable FP reserves, excellent Faith scaling, and decent Intelligence and Arcane attributes. Given this, you’ll be much better off using a Sacred Seal as your primary weapon, and potentially a shield in your off-hand.

Since her defensive qualities are almost non-existent, you’ll spend most of your time managing summons. In this vein, your weapon choices must have the right passive effects, with the priorities being buffs to HP, FP, and damage negation. On that note, check out the best passives for Revenant in Elden Nightreign below:

  • Less likely to be targeted
  • Reduced FP cost for spells
  • Reduced cast speed
  • FP restoration on killing enemies
  • Improved Flask regeneration
  • Improved Sorceries
  • Improved damage negation when casting spells
  • Improved Charge Sorceries
  • Improved X-type damage negation (match to selected Nightlord’s status affinity)
  • Improved damage negation at maximum/low HP

On the weapons front, you should mainly seek out Sacred Seals tucked within the randomly-generated Great Churches across Limveld. Depending on their affinity, these weapons can cast two pre-determined Incantations. While the Revenant can make do with most spells, Dragon Communion Incantations are best-suited due to her S-tier Faith scaling. Besides this, carrying a shield can help defend the character against run-ending blows.

  • Eclipse Crest Greatshield

Best Revenant Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign

Relics are a crucial part of any build, offering a variety of bonuses that players can freely swap to fine-tune their selected class. While you’ll earn most Relics via the random rewards handed out at the end of each expedition, the best options for the Revenant are tied to her Remembrance quest. These include the Old Portrait and the Small Makeup Brush, both bolster the character’s strengths.

Generally, the Relics you’re looking for should boost the Revenant’s HP, FP, and damage negation while buffing the Incantation types you prefer. Here are all of our Relic recommendations:

  • (Revenant) Trigger Ghostflame explosion on Ultimate Art activation
  • (Revenant) Expand own HP to fully heal nearby allies when activating Ultimate Art
  • (Revenant) Power up while fighting alongside undead family
  • FP restoration on successive attacks
  • Improved Dragon Communion Incantations
  • Improved Giants’ Flame Incantations
  • Ultimate Art Gauge +1
  • Improved Resistance to X-type damage (match to selected Nightlord’s status affinity)
  • Consuming Flaks heals allies

Best Talismans for Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign

Talismans function essentially the same in Nightreign (compared to Elden Ring), barring the method to obtain them and their temporary nature. These items are now randomized and can only be acquired after eliminating teardrop scarabs. Nevertheless, they remain an essential element of any build, especially regarding the Revenant, as her fundamental attributes, such as HP and Stamina, are abysmal.

Since she’s primarily a spellcaster, obtaining Talismans that can improve her FP pool, buff sorceries, or reduce the time between Incantations is necessary. The character also suffers from poor defensive attributes, meaning any damage negation buffs will be useful. Unfortunately, you can only equip two Talismans at a time, so it’s impossible to iron out all her deficiencies in this manner.

Nevertheless, here are all the best Talismans for the Revenant class:

  • Erdtree’s Favor: Increase maximum HP and maximum stamina
  • Crimson Seed Talisman: Improved HP Restoration through Flasks
  • Green Turtle Talisman: Improved stamina recovery
  • Blessed Dew Talisman: Continuous HP recovery
  • Radagon Icon: Improved Spell casting speed
  • Graven-School Talisman: Improved Sorceries
  • Cerulean Amber Medallion: Increased Maximum FP
  • Godfrey Icon: Improved Charged Spells
  • Ancestral Spirit’s Horn: Regenerate FP on defeating enemies
  • Viridian Amber Medallion: Improved stamina recovery

Best Tips for Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign

Revenant plays a particular role in Nightreign’s team composition. The name of her game is sitting in the backline, summoning spirits best-suited to the opposition, and swooping in for clutch heals when required.

Outside this core loop, she’s responsible for dishing out damage using charged Incantations from a distance. She can occasionally use her passive to raise downed enemies as allies, but these phantoms serve little purpose outside of drawing aggro away from her teammates.

After acquiring the best Relics for the character, try implementing these tips to improve your capabilities with the Revenant:

1. Pick the Right Summon

The Revenant’s character skill, Summon Spirit, does precisely as the name suggests and lets you call upon a spectral friend to lend aid in battle. On activating the skill, you’ll see a submenu pop up giving you the choice between three allies: Helen the Page, Frederick the Pumpkin Head, or Sebastian the Giant Skeleton. All three have their own movesets, AI behaviours, and Ultimate attacks, and you can only summon one of them at a time. This makes it all the more important to pick the correct skeleton for the job.

Helen is a DEX-based warrior armed with a Rapier and some deft footwork. She’s best-suited to clear mobs of weak enemies like those found inside Forts. Frederick is significantly tankier in comparison and comes equipped with a blunt weapon that can dish out AOE damage. The ideal situation to deploy the Pumpkin Head is amid a boss fight, as he can serve as a tank that can attract the enemy’s aggro.

Lastly, Sebastian is a stationary skeleton who remains confined wherever you can summon him. What he lacks in mobility, he makes up for in raw damage output, as he can slam his arms down on enemies to drain their health bars. We recommend summoning the giant skeleton during boss fights against legendary foes or Nightlords. You’ll need to be strategic about his location on the battlefield. If you deploy him close enough, he’ll be able to attract the boss’s attention, allowing you to trigger his high-damage Ultimate to stun even the hardest of enemies momentarily.

2. Stock up on Starlight Shards

It’s impossible to overstate just how crucial FP regeneration is for the Revenant. Most of the damage you’ll inflict outside of the summoning will be through Incantations. And since the character’s kit offers no way to restore FP (unlike the Recluse), you’ll need to rely on the Passives and Talismans mentioned above, alongside consumables like Starlight Shards.

These items can instantly restore significant amounts of FP and are also quite easy to find. Be sure to check out our dedicated guide on how to restore FP in Elden Ring Nightreign to learn more.

3. Use Your Ultimate for Revives, Not for Summon Attacks

The Revenant’s Ultimate, Immortal March, is pretty underwhelming on the whole. Its saving grace is that it can revive all downed Nightfarers and allies caught in its area of effect. Alternatively, the ability can also trigger the Ultimate attack of the Revenant’s spectral family.

That said, the special attacks in question aren’t worth wasting your Ultimate gauge on. Given this, we recommend saving the Immortal March to bring your teammates back into the fight, especially when you’re tackling one of Elden Ring Nightreign bosses.
