All Elden Ring Nightreign Classes, Characters and Abilities

As we are slowly nearing Elden Ring Nightreign’s release, many previews and beta tests have begun to drop. Like in Elden Ring, you must choose a nightfarer out of the eight prebuilt heroes before beginning your nighfaring journey in Limveld. Nightreign brings a variety of characters and classes with its spin to it. So with that, let’s check out all the Nightfarer classes available in Elden Ring Nightreign here to pick the best character for you.

All Nightfarer Classes in Elden Ring Nightreign

Elden Ring Nightreign offers eight different nightfarer classes for players to pick one before they start their journey in Limveld. Each class has unique weapons, skills, passive abilities, and ultimate arts. But remember that you cannot change their appearances or their armor; only modifications can be made to their armor. With that said, meet all the various Elden Ring Nightreign heroes:

1. Wylder

  • Playstyle: Versatile Warrior
  • Weapon: Greatsword and a Shield
  • Skill: Claw Shot
  • Passive Ability: Sixth Sense
  • Ultimate Art: Onslaught Stake

Every Souls game has that one all-rounder class that offers a friendly experience for beginners, and it is the Wylder here. Wylder is a versatile warrior with his greatsword and a small shield. He also has a grappling hook prosthetic equipped to drag or pull close to enemies.

Furthermore, his passive ability can save you once from a life-ending hit from enemies, and his Onslaught Stake ultimate can be used to unleash a powerful explosion to deal massive damage to both health and stance.

2. Guardian

  • Playstyle: Tank
  • Weapon: Halberd and Greatshield
  • Skill: Whirlwind
  • Passive Ability: Steel Guard
  • Ultimate Art: Wings of Salvation

A tanky guardian with a huge chunk of health and stamina is always here to save the say. So players who love to charge front with a Halberd and a Greatshield should go with the Guardian.

You can create a whirlwind to break enemy stances with the passive ability protecting you from damage when you get pushed back. Lastly, you can leap up high in the air and crash down to leave your opponents devastated with your ultimate ability.

3. Recluse

  • Playstyle: Sorceress
  • Weapon: Staff
  • Skill: Magic Cocktail
  • Passive Ability: Elemental Defense
  • Ultimate Art: Soulblood Song

Next up, we have a recluse if you are someone who prefers casting magic over melee fighting. As a sorceress, you rely on your good old staff for spellcasting. The recluse’s magical abilities are a bit tricky to explain in words, but once you start playing, everything starts to click for you.

Her ultimate is an overpowered move where you apply a curse mark to an enemy, and all of your allies can replenish their health and mana by attacking the marked enemy.

4. Duchess

  • Playstyle: Stealthy and Agile Assassin
  • Weapon: Dagger
  • Skill: Restage
  • Passive Ability: Magnificent Pose
  • Ultimate Art: Finale

The character classes aren’t complete without having a stealthy assassin, which many players love to play as. We have a Duchess here who is extremely agile and can make anyone bleed in her way with her dagger.

Her Restage skill is quite powerful as activating will redo the damage you did right before that. If you and your friends need to go into complete stealth mode, you can always use Duchess’s ultimate to go invisible briefly.

Unrevealed Nightfarer Classes in Elden Ring Nightreign

The above four classes have been unveiled in the Elden Ring Nightreign network test and previews. There is room for four more nightfarer classes yet to be revealed in the game. However, we have some glimpses of the upcoming ones based on the trailers shared. Here are the unknown nightfarer classes at the moment:

1. Iron Eye

  • Playstyle: Archer/Sniper

In one of his interviews, Nightreign’s director, Junya Ishizaki, talked about a certain character who could summon a rock pillar to climb and snipe arrows from.” This is undoubtedly the archer class that debuted in the first trailer.

Based on his description, we can expect this archer character to take high ground using his ultimate art and take down enemies like a sniper. This nightfarer’s class is rumored to have a befitting title, “Iron Eye.”

2. Unknown Heavy Hitter

  • Playstyle: Juggernaut

It seems like Guardian isn’t the only tank character, as the trailers teased a much more massive juggernaut-esque character who wields a hybrid weapon that combines an axe and hammer.

He is expected to have large health but might be slow to play. In the trailer, he leaps up in the air and smashes into the ground, similar to performing Lion’s Claw Ash of War.

3. Samurai

  • Playstyle: Samurai

As someone who loves to parry, I was surprised to see a samurai-esque character wielding a katana and parrying an enemy in the trailer. With every perfect parry, the katana with golden veins seems to glow further, which hints at a power-up of this character.

We will have to wait for the complete reveal to learn more about this character’s abilities.

4. Unknown Spirit Ashes User

In an interview with IGN Japan, the game director Junya Ishizaki also teased another character whom we haven’t met in any trailer or previews. Junya mentioned that “one of the eight playable characters is a character who mainly fights using ashes.” So we can look forward to a character who summons spirit ashes to have an extra hand in fighting against the gruesome foes of Nightreign.

And that’s a wrap to our list of various classes in Elden Ring Nightreign. There are only four confirmed classes so far, and we expect to hear more about the rest soon. Nightreign is absolutely packed with a variety of nightfarers, so there are a lot of different playstyles to master.

In the meantime, what’s your favorite class that caught your eye? Let us know in the comments below.
