- Just like EA FC 25, FC 26 is available on the PS4.
- EA FC 26 remains locked to a steady 60 FPS during gameplay on the PS4.
- The PS4 version of FC 26 does not support crossplay with the game's current-gen PS5 version.
EA FC 26, the latest entry in the long-running franchise, is finally here. Just like every year, some players might be confused about the game’s platforms and whether it’s finally ditching last-gen machines such as the PS4 and Xbox One. EA FC titles, formerly known as FIFA, have been available on the PS4 for over a decade at this point. So, does its latest iteration break this pattern? Here’s everything you need to know.
Is FC 26 on PS4?

Yes, FC 26 is available on the PS4. Being one of the highest-selling consoles of all time, the PS4 still has a sizable install base, which annualized franchises such as NBA 2K and Call of Duty are unwilling to let go of. The same goes for EA FC, since the PS4 has received every new entry in the series, stretching all the way back to FIFA 14.
With that said, FC 26 on the PS4/Xbox One is technically the last-gen version of the game. These versions are devoid of all the new-gen bells and whistles present on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. This includes visual enhancements, special cutscenes, and gameplay animations provided by the Hypermotion engine. Given the disparity between the two editions, PS4 users cannot play with their friends on current-gen consoles like the PS5.
Despite this, last-gen versions are still pretty active in terms of player population. In Ultimate Team, finding matches shouldn’t be too much of a hassle, and the Transfer Market remains in full flow since it’s shared across all platforms barring PC and Nintendo Switch.
Is It Worth Buying FC 26 for PS4 Players?
The short answer is that it depends. If you’re a passionate Ultimate Team player who sinks hundreds of hours into the game every year, then yes, FC 26 on the PS4 should be worth the cost of admission. But if you’re primarily a Career Mode player, then you’ll be missing out on cutscenes and features only available on the current-gen versions, meaning it’s best to stick to EA FC 25, or even EA FC 24 for that matter.
The crux of things is that you’ll notice very few changes going from FC 25 to FC 26 on the PS5. So, unless your go-to is Ultimate Team, you’ll be better off skipping out on the upcoming title.
And that is everything you need to know about EA FC 26 on the PS4. So, will you be getting the game? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
