Does Norm Die in Fallout Season 2 Episode 5?

In the debut season of Fallout, we thought that Lucy’s brother, Norm, was a side character, but now, it appears that there is a much more elaborate role for him as the show proceeds further.

In the first two episodes of the sequel, we see that in a desperate attempt to make it out of Vault 31, Norm woke up all the cryogenically frozen Vault-Tec employees and tricked them into working for him to find a way to escape Vault 31. However, things were going according to Norm’s plans until the point where they were not leading to a situation where it appears that he is dead. So, here, let’s take a look at what happened and find out whether Norm dies or not by the end of Fallout Season 2 episode 5.

Is Norm Dead in Fallout Season 2 Episode 5?

In Fallout Season 2 Episode 5, we see that Norm and the Vault-Tec employees he got out of Vault 31 have made it to the wasteland and are headed to the Vault-Tec office. However, one of them, Ronnie McCurtry, who used to be Bud’s personal assistant, is skeptical of Norm. Eventually, they reach the office, but it is taken over by elderly survivors who also harvest Radroaches.

On Norm’s orders, they start looking for any clues or anything that might help them around the office. During the search, Norm opens up to one of the seemingly oblivious and scared Vault-Tec employees about not being in charge but is overheard by Ronnie McCurtry.

Norm then stumbles upon a computer where he finds something called the FEV, which stands for Forced Evolutionary Virus in the Fallout lore. However, before he could learn more about it, he was ambushed by Ronnie McCurtry, who started strangling him. The last thing we see in Fallout Season 2 Episode 5 is Norm turning pale and fainting, suggesting that he is dead.

However, we are yet to see if this assumption holds because fainting does not mean death, so we will move to the next episode with the thought that Norm is not dead yet, which will likely stand to be true. This is because, like the Ghoul, there’s a lot left to explore about his story, and it will negatively affect the viewership of the show.
