In the movie itself, we see Sam say that he should have taken the serum while fighting against the Red Hulk. Will Sam Wilson Take the Super Soldier Serum?
Even though he expressed his regret for not taking it, Sam Wilson will never take the Super Soldier Serum. Even in Marvel Comics, Sam has been offered the serum multiple times but every time he has declined the offer. So, the new Captain America will always be a regular human being equipped with cutting-edge tech to assist him.
Recently, Anthony Mackie had an interview with Deadline where he talked about Sam Wilson getting the Super Soldier Serum. He confirmed that Sam would never get the serum even after Captain America Brave New World because he is a different Captain America than Steve Rogers.
Anthony talked about how since Sam has no powers, he navigates through the lack thereof by being strategic.
“It’s very different with the serum, you can fight anybody. When you don’t have the serum, you have to be smart and engineer different ways of defeating enemies. With Sam, him being a counselor, he uses more of his brains than brawn. He uses more of his wit than his fist. He’s more of a friend to everyone.” – Sam Wilson
So, with that being mentioned, it will be interesting how Sam will fight against the likes of Doctor Doom who is set to appear in the next Avengers movie. There is a possibility that he might get some more upgrades for his suit that allows him to be stronger and faster. Seeing him take a stand against Red Hulk and emerge victorious, there are high chances that Sam will be able to live up to Steve Roger’s name.
