Death Stranding is a game where walking is the core gameplay, as you traverse across the lands to deliver cargo. The first game included a fast travel option that let the players freely move between the connected regions with the help of Fragile’s jumping powers. The sequel retains the fast travel feature but introduces new ways to fast travel between locations connected to the Chiral Network. So, let’s check out the different ways to fast travel in Death Stranding 2 in our guide.
Three Ways to Fast Travel in Death Stranding 2
We regret to inform you that Fragile cannot help Sam fast travel using her beach abilities anymore. But yeah, you can still fast travel in Death Stranding: On the Beach, as the game offers new ways to teleport between locations as you progress in the game. They are as follows:
1. Using DHV Magellan

The Deep-Tar Hunting Vessel (DHV) Magellan ship is the base of operations for the Drawbridge crew. Once you reach the F1 Distribution Centre in Australia in the game, Tarman will unlock the fast travel option on this ship. As it utilizes the tar beneath, the DHV Magellan ship can take Sam between regions within the Chiral Network.
Unlike other fast travel options below, you can take your cargo with you using this ship. However, it’s important to note that all the cargos delivered using the DHV Magellan ship will get a different evaluation called the Magellan evaluation. Time also passes quickly when you travel with this ship, so you must be careful with time-based deliveries, as it might affect your cargo ratings.
2. Using Transponders
One of the brand-new structures that players can build using the PCC in Death Stranding 2 is the transponder.
Transponders work similarly to Fragile’s beach jumping ability, as this structure utilizes the beach to let Sam travel from one location to another. The transponder blueprint will be unlocked once you recruit Heartman from the Heartman Lab.
You can use your PCC to build a transponder, and there are already pre-built ones in distribution centres and safe houses. It can be used to travel between the regions within the Chiral Network. If you are playing online, you can access transponders built by other porters and fast travel using them as well.
Similar to the fast travel feature in the original game, you’ll leave your cargo behind in the private locker before you teleport to another region.
3. Using Hot Springs
The Hot Springs return in Death Stranding: On the Beach. In addition to providing special effects, hot springs can be used to fast travel between two places. As hot springs can now be built using the PCC, you can construct them anywhere within the Chiral Network.
Once you’ve built them, you can dive into a hot spring and use it as a portal to emerge from another spring. In line with transponders, all the cargo you were carrying will be placed in the private locker facility of the hot spring before you teleport to the other place.
These are all the ways that Sam can use to fast travel in Death Stranding 2. The availability of three fast travel methods can always help you jump from one location to another. That said, which do you think is the best fast travel option in the game? Let us know in the comments below.
