Where to Find Marni’s Excavatron in Crimson Desert?
Marni’s Excavatron is part of a faction quest of House Roberts in Crimson Desert. After completing the Troubled Count quest, the count asks you to free his stolen quarry. This will start the Stolen Quarry faction quest, where you have to defeat the Excavatron and all the other enemies in the Karin Quarry. Head to the Karin Quarry in Hernand, found north of Rocca’s Hill.
Head to the innermost part of the quarry to find Marni’s Excavatron. If you head there for the quest, then the game will mark the location of the boss first, making it easier to find.
How to Beat Marni’s Excavatron in Crimson Desert
The Marni’s Excavatron boss is fairly easy to defeat, as long as you understand its gimmicks. The boss is very punishing towards players who run straight at it. So, follow our instructions carefully, and you will easily defeat Marni’s Excavatron Crimson Desert boss.
Bait Attacks and Punish
When you get near Marni’s Excavatron, it has two basic attack patterns to deal with you. One is plunging both its drills into the ground in front, and the second is doing the same, but with one arm. This attack leaves a massive punishing window for players, as long as they are not stun locked by the attacks.
What you can do is go near the boss, and instantly dodge roll to the side to bait its attack on the ground. Once it’s doing that, go in and deal damage with a couple of slashes before going back.
Other than his basic attacks, Marni’s Excavatron also does a charged attack with its drills aimed straight at you. When you see it perform the charged attack, run to either side to avoid it. Once it finishes the animation, you can deal some damage to it.
Avoid the Burrow Attack
Marni’s Excavatron does two types of burrow attacks, where it dives into the ground and chases the player. The first one is very simple to dodge, but I would suggest running away at full sprint to avoid it. Just continue running while it chases you, and you are good to go.
The boss executes the second burrow attack after its health is reduced to 50%. When it does that attack, a bright blue light will sparkle from it, giving you a cue to prepare. The boss will dive into the ground and will move much faster towards you. It will jump out from below three times during the attack, each dealing massive damage. With my health pool in the fight, I was getting one-shot by that attack.
To avoid it, unlock from the boss and sprint straight in the opposite direction, getting as much distance as possible. Once it gets out for the first time, check the distance between you and the boss and run again in a direction to maximize the distance. Do it three times to completely avoid getting hit by the attack.
Use Ranged Combat — Cheese Method
This boss is extremely slow, and using ranged combat against it can let you cheese the fight. However, make sure to bring a ton of arrows, so that you don’t run out. Also, keep your distance from the boss at all times, and focus on avoiding its burrow and charged attacks by following the tips mentioned above.
Best Skills for Marni’s Excavatron in Crimson Desert
This boss appears immune to stagger from most skills, so using Force Palm or High Knee can be more punishing for you than the enemy. The best Crimson Desert skills to use for this fight are the following:
- Armed Combat: This increases your basic attack damage, which will be your main source of damage for this boss fight after baiting its attacks.
- Evasive Roll: This ability lets you dodge the attack when being hit, making it crucial to avoid getting stunlocked when you do get hit by the enemy.
- Force Palm: Although using Force Palm can be risky, it does decrease the enemy’s defenses. So, you can use it after baiting its attack to deal increased damage to it with your strikes.
