- Captain America could get a new suit made of Adamantium since his Vibranium suit was destroyed by the Red Hulk.
- Adamantium could also be used as a weapon against Doctor Doom since his suit was made of Vibranium and is only vulnerable to Adamantium.
- The discovery of Adamantium could also point toward a new Wolverine however, I doubt that Marvel will ever take the risk of casting anyone else except Hugh Jackman for the role.
Captain America Brave New World might not have been able to impress a lot of people, but it has brought a pretty interesting detail to light that can have a lasting impact on the future of Marvel movies. The entire political conflict we got to see in the movie revolved around harvesting Adamantium from the body of the dead Celestial now known as the Celestial Island. Even though Marvel fans are already familiar with this metal, its introduction in the MCU could have major implications, and here’s everything you should know about it.
Where Did the Celestial Island Come from in Captain America Brave New World?
The Celestial Island is nothing more than the dead body of a celestial named Tiamut who was stopped by the Eternals in their feature film released in 2021 from destroying Earth. After he was taken down, his frozen dead body stayed afloat in the Indian Ocean.
The countries surrounding the Indian Ocean started exploring the dead Celestial’s body and discovered that it was rich in Adamantium, a metal even stronger than Vibranium. This discovery not only became the central point of Captain America: Brave New World but is also going to play a major role in the future of the MCU.
How Is Adamantium Important in the MCU?

In Captain America Brave New World, it is reinforced multiple times that Adamantium is a brand-new discovery for mankind. This also tells us that since Adamantium has been non-existent in this universe so far, the 616 MCU does not have a Wolverine yet.
The new metal not only plays a major role in the X-Men franchise but as far as I think, now that the Red Hulk has destroyed Sam Wilson’s suit in the final scene of Captain America Brave New World, there is a high chance that his new suit could be made out of Adamantium.
However, if we look at Marvel comics, Sam Wilson’s suit was never made of Adamantium but since MCU has strayed away from comic accuracy a lot of times, there is a chance that after the discovery of the metal on the Celestial Island, Captain America could get an Adamantium suit the next time he appears on screen.
This could prove to be crucial in the MCU since we all know Doctor Doom is coming to Earth as already hinted by The Leader in the post-credit scene of Captain America: Brave New World. Now you might wonder, what does Adamantium have to do with Doctor Doom? In Marvel Comics, Doctor Doom’s armor is made of Vibranium and is twice as indestructible as Black Panther’s suit. However, Doctor Doom’s armor is very much vulnerable to Adamantium.
So, now that America has access to almost unlimited Adamantium, it could prove to be a crucial weapon for the Avengers, especially Captain America, in taking down Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers movies. So, let’s see if this theory stands true.
What Does the Discovery of Adamantium Mean for the Future of Marvel?
Now that Adamantium has been discovered, there are a lot of possible plot lines that have opened for the upcoming Marvel projects. First off, since it is already known to us that Mutants will be much more involved in the upcoming Marvel projects, there is a chance that now we have Adamantium, we could see MCU’s version of the Wolverine appear in some future projects.
Another possibility is that since Sam Wilson has continuously denied taking the Serum, The United States Government could start working on creating their version of a Super Soldier leading to the revival of the Weapon Plus project. The first creation of this project was Steve Rogers in the 1940s and after that, it was put on hold but now that the new Cap is not willing to take the serum, the US government might restart it with Adamantium at their disposal.
Wolverine was also a part of this very project under the title of Weapon X. So, there are a lot of possibilities that could unfold in the future of Marvel with the presence of Adamantium.
