Spirit Skills can be unlocked early in Chapter 1 by meeting the Elder Sage for the first time. First, you will need to reach the Snake Trail Shrine in Bamboo Grove and then go up the stairs. On the right side, you will find the Elder Sage, who will grant you the ability to absorb spirits.
