Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool is Here; Check If Your PC is Ready

In Short
  • The developers of the Black Myth: Wukong game released an official benchmark tool for the players earlier today.
  • The tool, which is accessible for free on Steam, can help you analyze your system compatibility and hardware performance by rendering an in-game scene in real time.
  • Furthermore, keep in mind that these benchmark results might not accurately reflect the overall gameplay experience of the final release.

There’s no doubt that Black Myth: Wukong is one of the most anticipated RPG games of 2024. Game Science, the studio behind this game has already unveiled the PC requirements you need to run the game. While devs prepare gamers for titles by hyping them up, Game Science has done this by releasing an official “Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool” on Steam for the players to test the waters.

The official Black Myth Wukong: Benchmark tool was released early today. As you would expect, it has been specifically created to assess your system compatibility and hardware performance by rendering an in-game scene in real time. So you can easily apply various graphical presets and run it to test the best settings for you.

But do note, that this is not a playable demo of Black Myth: Wukong. It is just a tool to help you find out if your PC is ready to run the game. I ran the benchmarks in my setup (specs mentioned in the pic) earlier today for “Cinematic Preset” with very high RT and Frame Generation turned on. Here are the results:

By playing around with the different options, I was able to find the optimal settings that I could go with when the game releases next week. The final results mostly matched the recommended specs for the game that were mentioned by Game Science.

However, it is important to note that this doesn’t represent the game’s final experience. As stated by the devs:

“Due to the complexity and variability of gaming scenarios, the benchmark results may not fully represent the actual gaming experience and final performance.”

Fans on the internet are currently praising the move to provide the Benchmark tool to prepare the players for the game’s release. In my opinion, the Black Myth: Wukong benchmark tool is a good example of a symbiotic relationship.

So while gamers can easily play around to find the perfect graphic settings, the developers can gather vital information from the former’s rigs. This of course makes it a huge win. I believe every studio can learn from Game Science and come forth with their benchmark tools for their upcoming games as it remains ultimately helpful for both.

Nonetheless, some of the users reported that the tool crashes occasionally and they were left unable to run the benchmarks. Game Science hasn’t released any updates regarding this issue. Thus, if you encounter any problems during your test, stay tuned for fixes.

That said, if you have run the benchmarks successfully, tell us about the performance of your setup in the comments below.
