  • Released: February 4, 2025

  • Genre: Action role-playing

The first KCD was filled with its fair share of jank, which deterred many players from giving it a chance. But Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is polished to the nth degree, all while staying true to the hardcore RPG formula that made the first game so unique. The first-person title is bucolic fields and sweeping grasslands, its dingy huts and Bohemian castles, and its gritty realism juxtaposed against some lighthearted absurdity. It might initially feel like a medieval life simulator, but KCD 2 is so much deeper beneath that rustic veneer, as laid out in our KCD 2 review.

The game also happens to be an absolute showcase for the PS5’s power. So, we highly recommend checking it out.

  • Released: April 24, 2025
  • Developer(s): Sandfall Interactive
  • Genre: Turn-based role-playing

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 popped up out of nowhere and took the gaming community by storm. Set during the Belle Époque era, the game is a Persona-inspired turn-based RPG complete with gorgeous UI elements that even Atlus would be proud of. In terms of look and feel, Expedition 33 gives off a strong Final Fantasy vibe, which is further cemented by the game’s premise.

Sandfall Interactive’s debut title takes place in the French settlement of Lumiere. This scenic location faces the threat of inevitable extinction due to an entity known as The Paintress. Every year, the mysterious deity scribbles a number on a giant canvas, and every person of that age dies. The number counts down every year, and in response, the people with one year to live come together to mount an expedition. Their goal – “Kill The Paintress so she may never paint again.” Thanks to some top-tier writing, it’s a strong hook that manages to stick the landing.

The title puts players in the boots of ‘The Tarnished,’ a group of warriors traversing the Lands Between. The Tarnished must repair the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord.
