The AK-74 has been dominant in Black Ops 6 multiplayer ever since the game’s release. The classic Assault Rifle is packed with power and can obliterate enemies up close, all while remaining fairly stable. That said, the weapon has suffered from some significant nerfs in the Season 3 Reloaded update, including crucial reductions to its damage multipliers and ADS speeds. Due to these adjustments, the weapon has seen its stock drop in the meta. But its sheer firepower still makes it worth using. With this in mind, here’s our guide on the best AK-74 loadout and class build in Black Ops 6.
Best AK-74 Loadout for BO6

- Optic: Accu-Spot Reflex
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Rear Grip: Commando Grip
- Stock: Infiltrator Stock
- Laser: Strelok Laser
- Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
Our AK-74 loadout for Black Ops 6 focuses on making the AR easier to control and improving its handling. The end result is a noticeably more mobile weapon that still hits like a truck but doesn’t get too unwieldy beyond the 40-meter mark.
To kick things off, our optic of choice is the Accu-Spot Reflex since it doesn’t hamper the ADS times while also offering plenty of magnification. Up next is the Reinforced Barrel, which bolsters the weapon’s abilities at ranged encounters by boosting both the Damage Range and Bullet Velocity.
To offset the recoil gains and make the AK-74 more stable, we’ve gone for a combination of attachments, including the Compensator, Vertical Foregrip, and the Recoil Springs mod. All three attachments tighten up the recoil and, in turn, improve the AK-74’s precision. We’ve gone with the Infiltrator Stock to enhance the AR’s aim-walking speed for mobility upgrades. Meanwhile, a handling buff comes courtesy of the Commando Grip, which boosts ADS speeds across the board.
The final attachment in our AK-74 loadout is the Strelok Laser, adding a neat visual touch that improves your close-range aim and also increases hipfire accuracy.
Best AK-74 Class Setup in Black Ops 6
If you manage to get a grip on its recoil, the AK-74 will see you breeze through engagements at all ranges. So, it doesn’t need an SMG or a Sniper rifle for company. That said, you’ll still need to pick the right Perks and Equipment that complement the weapon and your own playstyle.
Secondary Weapon

- Muzzle: Ported Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Laser: Target Laser
- Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
Being arguably the best pistol in the game, the Grekhova is our recommendation for the secondary weapon. The full-auto pistol is incredibly precise at close ranges and also packs some solid firepower, making it the perfect secondary to switch to once the AK-74 runs out of juice.
Perks and Equipment
- Perk 1: Ghost
- Perk 2: Forward Intel
- Perk 3: Birdseye
- Wildcard: Gunfighter
- Lethal: Semtex
- Tactical: Smoke Grenade
Our Perk package begins with Ghost, which renders you immune to enemy radar pings and helps you catch them off-guard. In the second slot, Forward Intel is an excellent option, especially for aggressive players, as it increases the mini-map’s size and provides directional indicators for revealed enemies. The third and final slot goes to Double Time, which greatly increases the duration of Tac sprint, allowing you to keep up the momentum.
The Gunfighter Wildcard is a must for this class setup since it increases the attachment slots and lets you equip the loadout mentioned above in full. Lastly, our equipment choices are the typically reliable combination of Semtex and Smoke Grenades.
